Dr Marten Emmeline boots

I've got black Dr Marten Emmeline boots, but what should I wear with them?

So far, I've only worn them with skirts and tights, but I'd like to wear them with trousers too. But how? I like skinnies (I know), but does this not work? Do I need a flash of bare ankle? I don't like being cold though.

Oooh they are really lovely. I had two pairs of similar DMs back in the 90s - they were almost like desert boots on a DM sole. One was a soft, waxy brown and the other black. Can't for the life of me remember what I did with them and wish I'd kept them.

mejon, yes, they're like toned down DMs I think. I really like proper DMs on other people, but I wouldn't be able to carry them off, and I like these because they feel fine for work too.

Yes bookish83, they're quite low ankle boots. I have wide ankles but find these fine.

I wear thick marled socks that you can see if I wear my DM with skinnies.
