Best Lip Balm!

Hi all,
Apologies if this is tedious & boring BUT.....

I am on the look out for a really good lip balm!
I would like it to have a nice sheen and be really moisturising, so I don't get chapped lips!
I already have lip blush so colour not necessary, but I don't mind a little colour!
I also have just got lip fillers for the first time, so something that enhances them, without being sticky or tacky!
Not having to use my finger to apply is a HUGE bonus!
Not got a Budget as such, am willing to pay if it's good!

Hit me with your recs please!! X

You need a lip balm in a pocket of every coat you wear - as well as every handbag you use. I like the clarins blue tube one too. I tend to ignore the 'use within X months'.

Vaseline rosy lips. Cheap and effective.

ambereeree · 14/11/2021 11:22

i find molton brown lipsaver to be very good.

I’ve really struggled to find a moisturize lip balm and I’ve tried dozens when my usual brand was being discontinued, ranging from cheap to really expensive but the very best one I’ve found is by a brand called Fresh and it’s called petal soft lip cream. I slather it on before bed and my lips feel amazing when I wake up. Its £20 a pot but lasts forever. I won’t use anything else now.

WakeUpLockie · 14/11/2021 14:23

Just a heads up if anyone wants a lip balm to combat already-chapped lips - lanolin/lansinoh is the only thing that has worked for me lately!! Mega fab and totally natural.

BulldogDrummondBass · 14/11/2021 14:39

Tinted Burts Bees balms are rubbish. Mango, cucumber, pomegranate and other weirdo Burts Bees balms are rubbish. Sickly, sticky, no, no, no.

However, the best, the only, lip balm IN THE WORLD that works for me is the original Burts Bees beeswax lip balm with the yellow cap.

And a few in the car just to be on the safe side!

UPDATE: if anyone is interested Grin

The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask and Lip Glowy Balm have arrived!
First impressions - very good! The lip mask feels lovely, and there's loads in the pot! I can see it lasting for ages! The little applicator it comes with is very handy too!
The lip glowy balm is great for when you're out and about too! It has a really good texture and lasts well without feeling sticky.

I haven't got the original burts bee's yet, as they only had tinted ones in stock locally. I'm going to venture out further afield tomorrow to find that & the Clarins one too.
I've ordered the Nuxe and am still waiting for it to come!

Inthesameboatatmo · 16/11/2021 19:45

Lip mask even ffs .

crispinglovershighkick · 17/11/2021 01:08

Korres lip butter. Sheer tint and nice texture, I tap some on my cheeks too.

Yogaandcocoa · 17/11/2021 01:34

I love Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream lip balm and as random as it sounds Ultra Sun lip balm

Shuttheblinds · 17/11/2021 02:21

Eve Lom. I dont think you can beat it and I have definitely tried.

hazelgrey · 17/11/2021 06:57

I also love the Elizabeth Arden lip balm ( especially when you get a bargain set on a plane )

If I want a tint of colour a good old Vaseline tin - the red and pink ones give a nice wee glow for 99p !

StarfishDish · 17/11/2021 07:01

O Keefes! Smile

521Jeanie · 17/11/2021 07:03

Another vote for the burts bees range. The tinted ones are lovely, if not as moisturising as the original range.

LouiseBelchersBunnyEars · 17/11/2021 07:12

Do laneige do a plain one? All I can see are fruity scents?

BleuJay · 17/11/2021 09:10

Aptiva. Clear or tinted are lovely.

@dorothygaleandtoto

Honestly I favour the cheap as chips Nivea standard blue moisturising lip balm stick. It lasts ages on my lips and is a couple of quid.
Same, with a layer of blistex underneath. I've tried so many but this is the only way that stops my lips chapping (work outdoors a lot).
Subbaxeo · 18/11/2021 20:55

Nuxe pot balm is hands down the best I’ve ever tried. Non slippery, makes lips look lush and feels lively. Quite matte, not shiny.

Kjr33 · 18/11/2021 21:20

@LouiseBelchersBunnyEars I have the berry one but I can’t detect any berry smell/flavour to it but I’m possibly just missing it because it wouldn’t bother me.

noblegreenk · 18/11/2021 21:23

I love lip balms. My favourites are burts bees standard balm and tinted balm, nivea (basic blue tube), nuxe reve de mielle and carmex moisture plus (thin silver/grey tube).
