How would you do this hairstyle?

Just that really!

I have used a wand tong thing for my hair today but it’s quite curly and not quite what I want. I can’t figure out how to get that sort of edgy wave?

Can anyone help?!

(When I say ‘edgy’ I mean less curvy rather than I want to look edgy!)

I think she’s probably done hers with straighteners rather than a curling tong.

StatisticallyChallenged · 13/11/2021 13:10

I'd do that with straighteners, and stop curling an inch or two before the end of the hair to get it looking more tousled.

Vthirtyone · 13/11/2021 13:13

Yeah I reckon straighteners, large sections, leaving out the end 2 inches and immediately rake through with your hands

Bobsyer · 13/11/2021 13:27

Damn. My hair will hold any shape EXCEPT waves done with straighteners. I’m obviously doing something wrong.

Has anyone got a foolproof video I can follow?

You could probably still do it with a tong; I'd maybe try twisting the sections first and again, leave the end out. Tong held vertically rather than horizontally, and alternate the direction (so one section forward, next section back iyswim)

Let it cool after then rough it up a bit with fingers and possible lightly backcomb some sections.

-Use a thick barrel curling tong
-Alternate curling sections towards your face and away, this is make it look more 'piecey' and less uniform.
-When curling your hair leave out the bottom inch of hair, this bit will remain straight and help the causal undone look
-When curling use the the full length of the barrel so you create a longer curl rather than a tight spring.
-Finger comb through to soften the curls after leaving to cool.

good luck
