Postpartum Hair Loss - Go Short?

I gave birth 4 months ago and have been shedding lots of hair for the last 6 weeks.

My hairline is looking so patchy!

I’m wondering whether to go short, but worry it won’t look any better. What do people think, would a short style make my hair look thicker?

I keep finding hair everywhere, it really creeps me out.

I’d probably need a style with pointy sideburns as I have those funny sideburns anyway? 🙄

Take zinc, if really helped me.

I had this and iron supplements helped, but I was anaemic.

I had long hair and my pp hair loss was driving me mad. My hairdresser said that the weight of the hair was putting extra pressure on the follicles and so could be making the hairloss worse. He thought after 6 months (9months pp) i could probably start to grow it again. So i had it chopped into a bob. Im not sure yet whether its making a difference but its less likely to get grabbed by DD now, which is also helpful!

Ah thanks for the suggestions for supplements, I hadn’t thought of this. I was slightly anaemic while pregnant and was really careful to up my iron intake - promptly forgot about this when son was born!

@GuidingSpirit ha yes I was thinking not having hair grabbed would be an advantage too, he likes to get a fistful of the hair at the back of my neck and tug!
