Not exactly leggings, but not trousers either, what do I need?

I'm looking for some very thick 'smart' black leggings that I could wear with boots and a nice jumper. I've seen them on people quite a lot, but I need to know the search term to find some. 'Thick leggings' isn't working!

Off to bed now but hopefully some fabulous person will have provided the answer by morning!

@Pheasantlysurprised

Jeggings are just thicker fucking leggings, seriously!

Eh?

Jeggings = Jeans/Leggings

Treggings = Trouser/Legging = 'thicker fucking leggings'

pickingdaisies · 12/11/2021 08:40

There are also some slim leg joggers around that give that look.

fancyfrogs · 12/11/2021 08:43

Treggings! I have these. Like thick leggings with pockets and a bit more shape.

Ponte is the fabric you're looking for.

RockinHorseShit · 12/11/2021 08:58

Scuba leggings are good for this

TokyoSushi · 12/11/2021 09:15

Success! I'm looking for Ponte leggings!! -not thicker fucking leggings-

Amazing! Thanks!! Grin

Matalan do a selection of these x

JMAngel1 · 12/11/2021 09:20

The Zara ones are back - I got a replacement pair a few weeks ago and they are FAB! Nice and thick and stretchy and pull my tummy in and lift my bum up. And so comfy/ feel like PJs. They’re 19.99 but don’t know what they’re called!! Ponte seamed leggings?

freshcarnation · 12/11/2021 09:26

I buy the Matalan ones. Their selection is pretty good

MrsSkylerWhite · 12/11/2021 09:29

Primark did some fleeced lined leggings a couple of years ago which were really thick. Not sure if they do every winter?

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 12/11/2021 09:31

Uniqlo do trouser leggings, but they might be a little looser than what you're looking for.

Oh gosh I’m not sure. It’s hard to see the details as they look so black on screen. Mine have seams down the front and a really thick waistband - probably about a 4 inch suck you in band.
If you go into a Zara, they usually have them laid out flat on tables. I never do well with the site.

Westerman · 12/11/2021 11:47

M & S do some good Jersey trousers, some with stretch. I've got the ankle grazer type and I reckon they'll be ideal under boots once it's cold enough. And they're only £15.

I second 'treggings' - and have also found some great ones in Sainsbury's in the past.

RestingMurderousFace · 12/11/2021 12:03

If I had the budget I'd buy all my trousers from Joseph.

Was just coming back to say fatface, but I've been beaten to it - lots of good reviews, I'm going to try them myself

bananagram18 · 12/11/2021 17:03

You definitely need the word ‘ponte’ in your search as pp have said. They are usually thick legging type fabric with a seam on the front and back.
