I'm trying to up my game and use body lotion more frequently (I'm 50). Just finished a nivea q10 which was OK but not special.

Any recommendations? I really like pump action containers but that is probably lower end? Love something that smells good off to check Chanel lotions cos it's Xmas

L’Occitane Shea body lotion is lovely, very moisturising.
Or cheaper but still very good Aveeno from Boots, Superdrug, some supermarkets

longtompot · 11/11/2021 21:44

I love this stuff and tried it after it being recommended on here. The only downside is the pump doesn't reach the bottom and you need to cut the bottle in half as there is a lot of lotion left. It smells lovely, almost a petricor scent, fresh air after rain, and goes into my skin really quickly. I'm almost 50.

Neutrogena Hydroboost is amazing and cheap as chips

WellTidy · 11/11/2021 21:48

On a budget, garnier intensive seven day body lotion is fantastic. Not a pump though. About a fiver for 400ml so it lasts ages.

I have two favourites which are pricier - Rituals Sakura body soufflé which is about £16 and Occitane almond milk veil which is more again.

I do like the Occitane Shea too as it is so very moisturising.

Vaseline intensive care spray moisturiser.Im lazy so I just spray all over and rub in

UpInTheAttic · 11/11/2021 21:57

I find the Ritual and The Sanctuary products extremely decadent.

pastypirate · 11/11/2021 22:10

Came on to say Neutrogena too. The deep moisture red and blue label god it's utterly amazing and non greasy. Now I've remembered about it I curse myself for buying any other shite. I've got yellow bottle Vaseline just now and it's nice enough but the effect is pathetic in comparison.

l’occitane almond milk veil. I was bought some as a present and it’s fantastic.

I use Superdrug vitamin e body moisturiser which is the opposite in that it’s totally bargain but I really like it.

If you have v dry skin, O'Keefes is the bees knees

I like Palmers, but the olive oil one in the green (pump) bottle rather than the original cocoa butter one - it's great, but I can't bear the smell.

Sanctuary Mande Lular is my favourite, but it's a cream (in a tub) rather than a lotion.

TrussOnABus · 11/11/2021 23:04

@SocksAndTheCity please could you share where you buy the olive Palmers?! I used it once years ago but haven't seen it in a shop since!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 11/11/2021 23:23

The Neutrogena is also my favourite. I use the blue one in warmer weather which is more of a gel. I like that it has no scent.

StarCourt · 12/11/2021 00:54

No7 do a Hyuralonic acid body lotion which I really like

WhereAreWeNow · 12/11/2021 07:25

The Neutrogena ones are good. I'm currently using the green bottle Vaseline lotion because I liked the smell but it's very light.
For Christmas I ask for the Clarins one in a tube (not the lotion in a bottle). I love the smell and it works very well. And the Body Shop body butters are seriously moisturizing and some of them smell lovely.

I first bought it in New York and wound up having to order it online over here because I had trouble finding it so not a lot of help, sorry!

I wasn't sure whether it was scarce here or whether I was just unlucky, but I bought a six pack for about £20 online - I'll see if I can dig out the order details Smile.

Laura Mercier body cream in Creme brûlée or Fresh Fig is highly decadent and luxuriously thick and creamy.

Sol de Janeiro is lovely too - original BumBum cream is good for normal skin, the coconut one is super rich if you have very dry skin.
