Faux leather leggings/trousers

I have a pair of skinny faux leather jeans from VILA which have died on me. They have a zip fly and pockets and they are quite thick. I want to replace but they don’t have them.

I’m looking for a thickish pair that won’t pucker across the crotch, have a VPL and won’t sag.

Hit me with your tried and tested pairs!

I’m a size 8/10 and want to spend less than £50

I brought these Mint Velvet ones everyone raves about earlier this week. Haven't worn them out yet but I’m happy with them having tried them on and they feel comfy.

Bunce1 · 11/11/2021 11:50

Yes I have heard about the mint velvet ones but they look thin? Do they feel thin?

I have seen and tried some on in Zara, I think they were £20-£25 and had a few colours - cream, beige, khaki, black... I thought they felt really nice quality and looked good. I only didn't buy as they didn't work with my body proportions (waist too small, bum too big), but would recommend to others, but I obviously can't comment on how they wear.

TheOccupier · 11/11/2021 13:00

@SummaLuvin were you too hourglass for the Zara leggings? or were they too hourglass for you? Just wondering if they would work for me but I have a small waist and a round bum!

SummaLuvin · 11/11/2021 13:04

I was too hourglass for the leggings, my waist is around 24" and hips/bum 34", sounds like you might have the same issue as me!

TheOccupier · 11/11/2021 13:15

Yes I definitely would! Thank you - saves me a trip to Zara!

There's quite a few on zalando.co.uk, if you search "leather look trousers"

Bunce1 · 11/11/2021 14:20

Thank you for the suggestions. I will look xx

M&S have a nice pair, few colours available. Don’t have a zip etc (so are essentially leggings), but are structure and lined so great for winter.

EllaPaella · 11/11/2021 18:25

I have these and they are spot on Hush

Minnie147 · 12/11/2021 13:41

I got some online from GAP this week, 40% off, they are thick, have a zip/ buttons/ pocket and are true to size. They are 'slim faux leather jeans' on their website.

MrsKDB · 12/11/2021 13:50

I m was planning to go commando for my next pair (😉). They are thick and comfortable according to my friends who own them , but definitely leggings (no pocket detailing etc) . Bit above budget but I’m waiting for inevitable Black Friday deals.

I'm a size 18. My DS said my trousers sounded like I had sandbags in the pockets. I explained it was just my fat thighs rubbing together. He insisted I could not wear them to work, it was silly. Confused

Just saying. If you're a big girl, be careful. 10 yr olds will think the noise is ridiculous. Grin

Properjob · 19/11/2021 18:48

I've got Mint Velvet leather look leggings, no features just pull on, they are quite big for my smallish waist and fit my biggish bum and yes, quite thin. Very comfy, I wear them as lounge wear only. The Gap ones look great but are too short for me grrr.

Catwoman1974 · 19/11/2021 19:46

Mine are from Next and they’re still in perfect shape, had them for 5 years.. really good price too. I’m a size 8. I think they now do them in different colours.. they are jeggings, so no zip/button detail which I find works better to give a smoother, slimmer shape which is always a good thing 😊

whatisthisinhere · 19/11/2021 19:49

I have some from AllSaints, they're not too thin, and don't make a noise. They are definitely thicker than my Spanx ones.

Softpebbles · 19/11/2021 19:53

I have some from River ISland - think they are the Molly’s. Don’t go baggy at the knees!

RobertClementHughes · 19/11/2021 23:51

A friend has some from Sainsburys and they look AMAZING. Shes had them at least 2 years and every time she wears them i tell her how fantastic they look. It does help that she is a very toned and athletic size 8-10 mind you!
