Christmas Day - what to wear?

Aiming for nice but comfy so not my favourite bobbly joggers and stained t shirt but along those lines I terms of comfort

I'd rather not a dress as a bit formal for a day at home but would like to look like I've made a bit of an effort.

Also get too hot for Christmas jumper.

What are you wearing for Christmas Day!

Having the exact same dilemma! I was thinking maybe a jumpsuit. But I'm a short-arse so need to find something that's not too long.

IvorCutler · 10/11/2021 18:36

I’m planning to wear this skirt with an oversized black jumper and black boots with a slight heel. And gold jewellery!

I won't wear a jumper only because I get hot and we are likely to have a log fire and then I would melt

Either a thin Boden dress or a pleated ombré skirt with a loose fitting sequin T-shirt

When at my sisters we all make an effort. After all the time making the house look great, all the expense and effort to make an incredible meal, coming to the table wearing sweats seems odd.
It's just me and my two teens this year, and we probably won't dress up too much, but we won't be in joggers that's for sure.

I usually wear jeans a naice top but this year I'm thinking of wearing a long cotton floaty dress. A bit cooler to cook in and as it's floaty I won't feel too stuffed with all the goodies Grin

Personally I'm all about comfort on Christmas day, and I really like to wear a new pair of pajamas.

actiongirl1978 · 10/11/2021 19:15

Last year I wore a cream pleated dress from COS. It was perfect as just the 4 of us.

This year I will wear some kind of dress again, no idea what though. We have to walk the dogs several times which is a total PITA having to change in and out of.

Jumpingintochristmas · 10/11/2021 19:23

Loose dress all the way - I can’t abide feeling hot and restricted on Christmas Day.

JaceLancs · 10/11/2021 23:29

Sweater dress for me

KosherDill · 10/11/2021 23:34

Thinking of a tartan skirt with white blouse or black tortoise neck top. My mother & aunts used to dress so in the 60s / 70s for holidays.

samwitwicky · 11/11/2021 00:07

New Christmas PJs Grin

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 11/11/2021 00:14

Last year it was just me and DP, and I wore a gold sequinned skirt with a big chunky knit black jumper, black opaque tights, and DM boots. I hope we can see family this year and will probably wear the same outfit.

beachtosunset · 11/11/2021 00:47

brand new slippers and nothing else Grin i'm making a statement

But probably jammies and the slippers

TyrannosaurusRights · 11/11/2021 07:46

New, fancy joggers and style them up?

MrsBerthaRochester · 11/11/2021 08:17

I like to dress up at Xmas even though this year will be just me and kids. I will be wearing a red velvet dress and red glitter (Dorothy) shoes. The dressing up is bit I look forward to.

Kittykatmacbill · 11/11/2021 09:23

I always die of heat exhaustion whilst battling the roast, so I suspect I’ll end up in a vest and jeans with apron over…

TuftyRusty · 11/11/2021 09:25

I’ve quite a subtly sparkly dress from Reformation that I’ll wear. I don’t do much of the cooking though - if I did I’d probably wear something more practical/get changed after cooking.

Pheebs2021 · 11/11/2021 12:30

I'm planning on wearing a Christmas print dress from next that I've brought for Christmas jumper day at work.
