How would you dress this up?

I'm off out on Saturday for the first time in ages for drinks with friends.
It's nice quietish bars rather than full on clubbing.

I'm planning to wear a long black knitted top, black coated leggings and heels but I need to dress it up a bit. The jumper is similar to this and has silver hook & eyes down the back.

Do I go for statement earrings or a necklace? (I have largish boobs so has to sit just above my chest!)

Or simple earrings and a simple necklace?

Please help stylish mumsnetters...I'm out of practise!

I'm a bit out of practise too! But for me there's a lot of neck on show without a necklace, so I would go for an out there necklace, simpler earrings. And maybe red lippie :)

I think bigger earrings and no necklace, but then I’m not a fan of necklaces.

Yes to red lippy. Or pale lippy and smokey eye

I agree, no necklace (will fight with the hook and eye detail) and big earrings.

The hook and eye detail is on the back, the front is plain black which was why I wondered if it needed a necklace. Sounds as though either will be fine.
I do prefer earrings though so I'm swaying towards those - I usually wear gold but will maybe get some silver ones as the hook & eyes are silver.

I think I have this sweater...Mint Velvet from a few years back? If so big earrings, no necklace and hair up if possible (mainly because it catches in the hooks at the back!). Last wore mine to my vaccine appointments as it slips off the shoulders easily! I love wearing it and think it will look great with what you've described, enjoy your night out!

I think I am going to go for hair up and big earrings. Off to find some now
