Mahabis slippers question

OrlaPeely · 09/11/2021 23:04

Are they worth the very large amount ofmoney?

Want to get DH some new slippers for Christmas. He has some Toms with collapsible heel which he loves and are the only ones to last more than a couple of months (he wears through shoes like this too) but the colours this year are rubbish.

Mahabis colours he will love, but do they last? Or can anyone suggest an alternative?

UGGs last for years but appreciate they may not be to his taste.

Do Mahabis ever do discount or Black Friday etc? John Lewis have a good copy but from the customer photos am not sure they'll last.

I got the John Lewis copies. One pair each for dh and ds.
They love them. Say they are the most comfortable slippers that they have owned

My husband found them terrible because they wore out v quickly. He wears Birkenstock’s now - much better.

mollio · 09/11/2021 23:32

I’m on my second pair of Mahabis and they are totally worth the money . Very comfortable ( I don’t wear socks with them though so they glide on ). I like being able to pop out to the bin with the rubber sole . I have also washed in the machine etc. I will
Replace when they go

I keep drooling over these slippers. My last pair of slippers cost about £20 so these would be a massive hike in price but I keep going back to look again and again and again. Bloody Facebook algorithm is now showing them to me every time I open it, just to fuel the obsession.

I found my mahabis in tkmaxx Smile. Never seen them there again though.

Mine wore out very very quickly and although I loved them…not worth the money. They’ve also gone bust as a company twice which isn’t a good sign - and can make customer service spotty

tocas · 10/11/2021 07:33

DH has some and loves them. A year old now and still going strong.

Shortpoet · 10/11/2021 07:39

Mine have lasted ages. I want a new colour but can’t justify getting new ones yet as old ones are still perfectly fine.

Only problem is, they are so comfy I have popped out to the shops wearing them forgetting I wasn’t wearing proper shoes!

However my friend didn’t like them as she said they were too flat for her, so I guess it’s what you prefer.

nimbuscloud · 10/11/2021 07:46

I have had a pair for years. Wear them a lot and they are still good - no sign of them wearing out

alpinia · 10/11/2021 08:34

I have a pair of Mahabis that I got for Xmas a few years ago. They are still going very strong so they've lasted longer than my previous slippers. The only sign of wear is on the neoprene heel bit where I'm too lazy to put it up and so it's got a bit worn. I would happily buy more in the future.

I've seen them fairly often in TK Maxx, so worth keeping an eye out. I think they also have some sort of black Friday discount too.

Rainbowshit · 10/11/2021 08:42

I absolutely love my mahabis. Had them for years and still look good. They do do discount codes every so often.

ReviewingTheSituation · 10/11/2021 08:44

I've had mine for years! They're showing no sign of wearing out any time soon.
