Coat taken in

I bought an 'investment' winter coat a couple of years ago. It was quite expensive and I completely love it.
I've lost a ton of weight this year and it swamps me now. It's at least two sizes too big..possibly thre.
Is this the sort of thing that can be taken in? Would it cost me more than the coat did?

I've had coats re-lined and re-zipped and frankly its expensive.

I wouldn't consider messing with a waterproof or down. If it's a wool full length, they are ten a penny in the charity shops round here. I got a lovely cashmere one when I lost weight.

The one I did have repaired was a smart casual wool with 3 zipped (passport sized) pockets. When I looked this seemed to make it not only spectacularly useful but fairly unique. I think the coat has to be fairly unique for the cost to be worth it
