When is better? I have fine breaking hair, nigh on bald in places. Advice appreciated

Why is your hair breaking? Is it because of damage or because of health?

Think it’s just so fine. Iron ok, thyroid ok. Just really fine.

I have fine hair and don't get on with the home Olaplex at all, but it seems OK when the salon add it to colour.

The elasticizer is much better on my hair, doesn't leave it lank.

I also swear by Nioxin shampoo........ I use it periodically and it really seems to help new hair growth.

@RubyTuesday70 which shampoo do you recommend?? Was that the one you couldn’t use if you have high blood pressure or was that minoxidil?

I have similar hair and use one, alternating olaplex and elasticizer each wash, and trying not to wash to much. They do different things, elasticizer adds moisture and olaplex repairs the hair bonds but is not conditioning in itself. I like to use olaplex 0 and 3 together as I think it gives a better result

I use the Nioxin system 4 for progressed thinning/coloured hair. I also use their Thermal Active protection spray daily, and it's made such a difference. I'm on medication for high BP and it's never affected it as far as I know.

The shampoo can feel a bit drying, so I use it for 3 to 4 weeks at a time then use another shampoo for 3 to 4 weeks. But the heat protection is applied daily.

I alternate between both every week. Elasticizer makes my hair softer because it conditions. Olaplex seems to make my blonde brighter but I need a conditioner too.

I have very fine, wavy hair with awful bleached highlights, it's very fragile and has been breaking off.

Neither Olaplex or Elasticizer work on my hair, if anything it makes it worse. I was telling a new hairdresser about this and they said that it might be that I have protein resistant hair.

They used a shampoo and conditioner (as a mask) on my hair and along with a decent cut, it was transformed, it actually looks glossy without being weighed down. I was also given a few samples to try out at home and I'll be buying the full sizes.
