Lost my way a bit....any advice

Can any of you stylish ladies advise me on what to wear, how to get back to feeling me?

To cut a long story short, I'm fat!

5 foot tall, almost 14 stone, around a size 20. BMI 38 ish. I'm actually really happy though! But I've lost my way with dressing.

Pre lockdown (pre march 2020) I was a size 14. Busy life, usually lived in tights boots and seasalt dresses. Or skinny jeans ballet flats and a Breton stripe top. Favourite shops are seasalt / joules /boden / fatface / frugi. Full makeup eveeu day etc
Then the pandemic hit.

I barely left the house for months. When I did it was leggings hoody, ponytail and mask.

Now things are getting more normal and I've lost me. Everything is too small. I have a completely different life to pre pandemic. I'm still in the leggings / vest / long cardigan trap.

I am losing weight but the issue is more with how I feel. I don't know what to wear anymore. I keep seeing things in shops but I think I'll.wear them when I'm thin. But I want to feel confident at my size now in nice clothes now
I've recently turned down an invitation to a night out as I don't know what to wear 😱

Style me please mamas!

Firstly put away all your smaller clothes, looking at them every day is not going to help you find your way. Do you think any of your old styles would look nice in you in your new size? If so order some online and try them.
I’m a very similar height etc to you and wear a lot of midi dresses, surprisingly they make me look a bit taller. They are nice with ankle boots or healed ankle boots for the evening.
My top tip would be to go shopping on your own when you have a lot of time and try on so much stuff. Even if you only buy a few items it’s worth it. Try on the right size, don’t try and squeeze into the size down.
I recently bought some leather look leggings and a nice blouse from M&S and feel really good wearing that on a night out.

Reformation has a dedicated Plus size section. I rather love this updated twin set - but it’s worth looking at the rest of their clothes. Possibly you’d prefer the mini lengths to to midis.

Thanks yes I'd love a shopping trip I think that would boost my confidence. I daydream of taking the train into a city on my own trying on lots of things, lunch out etc.

I like the look of these mom jeans with a long sleeve top tucked in and boots that everyone seems to be wearing but I just think I'll look ridiculous

How about something like these with some boots?
