Lack of party knitwear

I've bought a lovely v neck velvet dress for parties/Christmas but would like to buy an evening cardigan in silver fine knit or bolero but it seems impossible to find anything at a sensible price on the high street

I'm sure in the past the shops used to be packed with this kind of thing

I'd try ebay if you don't mind buyin a pre-owned item.

Yes am looking, trouble is in an ideal world I could try it on first.
