What can I do about my eye brows and lashes?

creampuff99 · 04/11/2021 23:18

I've never had anything done to my eye brows or eye lashes and feel that I should do something with them. Mainly as my eyelashes seem to be non-existent and I have no real shape to my eye brows. However, I am slightly confused about all the treatments on offer. Do I need to get eyelashes lifted or just tinted? And do eyebrows need to be waxed, tinted or just threaded to give them some definition? I just want something subtle, nothing like huge false lashes or slug brows!

I REALLY hate threading and have a wax/tint every six weeks. But some much prefer threading. I think it’s a horrible feeling😂

A lift and tint on your eyelashes wound be good.

Agree with PP, a wax and tint on your eyebrows would make a huge difference!

I can't quite tell from your picture but it looks like your lashes are curled up quite nice anyway, so perhaps just a tint on your eyelashes!

Both super subtle, but you notice the difference yourself

I actually go to the Benefit counters to have mine which are probably not the most cost effective way of doing it, at £27 for a wax and tint. But I’ve found them the easiest in really being able to specify what you want and they advise on the best way to work towards a defined shape. The lady I see now is excellent and I get to specify her particularly when booking an appointment. Great advice on styling them in between appointments too with brow pencil etc.

Microblading? Expensive but worth every penny imho. Cuts down time I'm the morning faffing around with pencils etc. Took years off my look.

WhenPushComesToShove · 04/11/2021 23:54

Another micro blading vote. Definitely worth it. Also it is possible to have modest lash extensions which will give your eyes much more definition, you don't have to go large

RunningFromInsanity · 05/11/2021 00:05

Start out with lash tint and if you want more of an impact go for a lift and tint next time.

A subtle brow tint will also go a long way to giving definition.

Youdoyoutoday · 05/11/2021 10:16

I had my brows microbladed!! Best thing I did! My brows were really lacking above the inner eye and now they are filled and fuller looking. I really wish I'd done it years ago.

Microblading - don't eyebrows look like blocks when you do this?

SummaLuvin · 05/11/2021 10:30

brow tinting and lamination. lash tinting and lift.

Youdoyoutoday · 05/11/2021 10:30

Missed the photos off. I'm really happy with my brows now

Not when done properly, you need to find someone with great reviews and expect to pay £400 or more. These are mine now, I do use a pencil for more definition when going out in the evening but for day time I leave them.
MoltonSilver · 05/11/2021 10:46

To go from never having anything done to microblading would be too big a shock.

Just get a lash tint and eyebrow tint in a slightly darker colour and have a few stray eyebrow hairs removed by threading to give a bit of shape to them. It's not a long term commitment and tbh I think that's all you need.

tuttofruito · 05/11/2021 11:07

@Youdoyoutoday I say this in the nicest way possible, you should find a new microblading tech.

I was going to say benefit. I went for the first time 6 weeks ago and it was worth every penny.

Just as an aside if you book on their website you can select 3 waxes with 3 free tints so it works out £55 for 3 lots so a lot cheaper than individually.

Id you want waxing they are the place to go. It was spur of the moment for me as I was there and I don't regret it.

I’ve got mine microbladed but I agree with @MoltonSilver I think for you it might be too much now! Mine are dark naturally and just had microblading to fill a couple of gaps. I think for you if you tint and shape the brows and tint and curl the lashes they’d look lovely! Then see how you go from there and you can always do more later.

sunshinelover69 · 05/11/2021 12:56

I had mine microbladed and went from pretty much nothing to lovely defined brows. Was a bit of a shock at first but I soon got used to them. Definitely don't regret it.

How about some lengthening mascara as well?

The pictures don't do them justice, that's my poor camera work but that's a really rude thing to say!!

Hope you feel better for bringing someone down though!

TuftyRusty · 05/11/2021 16:34

@Youdoyoutoday that was a horrible thing to say - FWIW your brows look lovely and natural to me.

Youdoyoutoday · 05/11/2021 16:45

Thanks @TuftyRusty

Mine are micropigmentation. I'm v pale with fair brows (redhead) and this is with a bit of brow gel on

HunterHearstHelmsley · 05/11/2021 16:58

I had microblading and hated it. For me, the effect wasn't worse the effort. If you have fair brows you still need to get them tinted anyway.

I have henna brows once every 2 months, with a top up shape in between.

I usually have classic lash extensions, sometimes hybrid if I have a big event coming up. I don't find they look too much, the classic particularly. I'm having a break from extensions at the moment, so have had a lift and tint. I don't find much benefit from the lift but I know some people rave about them. I get the same effect from curlers generally.

Chesneyhawkes1 · 05/11/2021 17:01

I've had mine micro bladed and have lash extensions on

Bluntness100 · 05/11/2021 17:02

Micro blading, it’s a game changer, I literally had Pamela Anderson brows following over plucking in the nineties and this is them now, just need a touch up.
