Afternoon Tea at Savoy

We have an early Christmas do in late November, afternoon tea at the Savoy in London. Need some ideas about what would be suitable to wear. I will be going up by train, so no ridiculous heels.
I am size 16, 5'2, apple shape. My legs are not bad. What should I go for?

Jumper dress and ankle boots.

Prairie dress, leather or suede jacket, or pea coat, tights and ankle boots.

Jumper dress sounds good, not sure about a prairie dress. Not really tall enough to carry off.

Tiered dress with jacket, opaque tights, flat comfy ankle boots

Wear something you feel nice in. Even ‘dressy’ places in London are not really dressy like anywhere else in the country.
As long as you’re not in ripped jeans & trainers you will fit in perfectly.

I don't mind dressy at all. Just don't want to look completely out of place.

The Savoy is a mixed bag, there will be people there dressed up for special occassions and also people in jeans with shopping bags. I last wore this blue print midi dress, long boots and a navy wool coat

If you want to dress up a bit then do so, it's a lovely venue and you won't look out of place.

Lovely dress, @AppleWitch. Where from?

I’ve been there for afternoon tea a couple of times and also stayed at the hotel - it’s lovely, I’m sure you’ll have a great time. As PP said there will be a mixture of people who’ve dressed up, and those less dressy - jeans and so on. So I don’t think anything would look out of place - it’s very relaxed and doesn’t have a strict dress code (unlike say, The Ritz).

In winter I’d go for a nice jumper dress, or midi dress and boots. Or something like a faux leather skirt and silky top. I think last time I went I wore black jeans, and a shirt from Sézane.
