Puffer coat - recommend me one

So I have been using my wool coat for the school run and it’s not working out too well when it’s wet or very cold. No hood and no pockets.

I would love a puffer long coat that is practical for the school run but also looks good.

I’ve looked on the internet and only the pink other stories one appeals, but the pale pink will wash me out and the black isn’t a colour I wanted to go for, ideally.

Has anyone seen one that looked good?

The new Hunter long puffer coat is gorgeous and very warm. I have black but it comes in a dark green too and one other colour but I can't remember if it's red or navy.

Have a look at Lands End website. Or Seasalt.

Last year I bought the Next puffer coat, which has been excellent. They've slightly changed it this year I think, but worth a look. It's the Emma Willis one

Wisteria1979 · 04/11/2021 20:53

I have a Uniqlo in dark green from last year that I love.

ParkheadParadise · 04/11/2021 20:54

I also have the Next one. It's so cosy and warm.

Another one with the Emma Willis Next coat (in green). It's the best coat I've ever owned! So snug.

Zampa · 04/11/2021 20:56

Zara had some nice ones when I read in there today but can't vouch for cosiness.

I've one from fat face which I really like, mine's black but they had other colours. Inside pockets and outside zipped ones, plus a drawstring at the hood (my last one didn't and it would just blow off me when it rained)

Rab - deep down parka is really warm and surprisingly lightweight

Itsabeautifuldaytosavelives123 · 05/11/2021 16:19

I have the Rab deep down parka, very warm but is not so long as the puffers around this year so thinking of getting another kind.

Itsabeautifuldaytosavelives123 · 05/11/2021 16:20

Joules one is gorgeous but enormous, I've reordered in a smaller size hoping it won't be so big. Love that Hunter one mentioned, it also looks hugely puffy.

Beachlovingirl · 05/11/2021 16:22

Thank you everyone for these great suggestions. I went to next to try on the Emma Willis one and they only had the green colour block which I tried on and liked - but at least 5 other people were wearing that same one today on the school pick up.

I found a pale pink one in other stories that I liked because it isn’t black but it might just make me looked really washed out, or like a big marshmallow.

I saw the whistles one online but it looks too short. @Nairobiblue how long is your coat? I’m wanting something long like calf length.

Nairobiblue · 05/11/2021 16:27

I'm 5'2" so on me it is almost ankle length Winkbut if you are tall like the model then should be calf length. www.hunterboots.com/gb/en_gb/womens-jackets/womens-insulated-rubberised-long-puffer-coat/black/6212

albird · 05/11/2021 19:12

Massimo Duti have a few really nice long puffer coats.

WildFlowerBees · 05/11/2021 19:14

I've got the Emma Willis one in green from last year, it's warm very long but the bloody thing rustles like you wouldn't believe. When I'm driving all I hear around my neck and arms is 'rustle rustle' hate it.

Elzbells · 05/11/2021 19:35

I've got the Superdry Fiji, it's comfortable, warm and it's been going strong 3 years so far

Beachlovingirl · 11/11/2021 19:19

Update! I ended up having a few gin and tonics and drunken ordered the hush green one.

@albird I did love the md ones especially there was one in a golden colour so that is my second choice only because I know the gold colour isn’t the best against my skin

My third choice is one from Abercrombie and Fitch which was in a camel kind of colour but sold out in the talk length in my size.

As a outsider Reiss also have a gorgeous one but it is £££

Many thanks again to everyone who posted Smile
