What top to wear with these trousers?

I was going to wear them with sock boots but no idea what top i could wear?

Would a cropped top or jumper work?

Slim ribbed polo neck jumper, maybe navy. M&S have some. What are sock boots though?

I think khaki and black look nice, so I’d say a black cashmere jumper. Short and boxy would work, so would a tight fitting jumper or something that’s tucked in.

I'd wear a blouse with a fair-isle or plain tank V neck over the top.

Something tight ! I'd wear a black roll neck !
