Smart trainers for work

Hello. Need some recommendations for work/office suitable trainers please.

After wfh for whole of pandemic I am now heading back into the office next few weeks. Pre pandemic I usually wore wide leg trousers - navy or black and a nice blouse or sometimes long tunic/short dress over trousers. Loafers or brogues Clarks/Russell & Bromley or flat/flat form sandals in summer. Or sometimes ballet type pumps like Fitflop Allegro pumps or a wee flat ankle boot.

I’m a director in public sector so although senior don’t need to be suited or booted.

Like a lot of people I’m thinking I’m not really wanting to be as formal as before so not too keen on shoes like loafers.

I’d like some nice trainers but struggling to find ones that do not have a big white sole.

I’ve got really lovely and comfy Fitflop Rally trainers with Velcro straps but they’re gold and have white soles so def too casual for work.

Any recommendations for some leather trainers in navy or black/grey/nude with dark or gum sole. Much appreciated x

I wear Fitflop Rally hi-top lace up suede trainers in navy (have a white sole) but the black ones have a black sole.

I’m liking the navy leather hi-top. Wonder if I can get away with white sole. I can’t decide about the all black ones. Might have to just order and see them as they look a bit cheap/plastic maybe?

I would say the white sole is acceptable. Somehow the hi-top makes it seem a dressier trainer.

Agree the all black looks cheaper.

I'm currently wearing jigsaw trainers, with same kind of look to yourself with wide trousers. Zip's rather than laces makes them look smarter

Mint velvet generally do lovely ones - smart and amazingly comfortable to wear. I tend to live in those or Stan smiths. Amazing to think I once only wore heels..!

I was going to say the same - Jigsaw has some very smart trainers, I'd definitely wear those for work.
