Free People order - does it ship from the US?

I had a look at the Freepeople.com site and like the look of some of the clothes (even if the prices are all over the place). I think it’s a US company looking at where their shops are (they have a couple of shops in London) - wondering if it ships from the US then and if people have had to bag import tax on the clothes?

Anyone bought from them recently?

I bought boots from them pre pandemic, and I think they did come from the US because they took ages to arrive. I didn't have to pay any extra for them

I buy from them quite often, have done in the last couple of months.

It depends on their UK stock, sometimes it comes from UK, sometimes from US. I've never been charged extra when it comes from US.

Oh that’s brilliant, thanks. I once got whacked with a hefty import tax on a few metres of fabric id bought from Canada.

I ordered a cardigan and it arrived within a few days and I got the impression that it had shipped from the UK.

No import tax. Some items say something like ‘quick delivery’ which come from their UK warehouse, other items ship from the US so take longer. If your order has a mix, they dispatch each item once it’s ready (I.e quick delivery first). But super easy returns back to the UK regardless of where they sent it from.

You don't pay anything extra to the checkout price. I buy quite a bit from them. If the detail next to price says

" Item not currently available for UK Quick Delivery.

Free delivery on orders £75/€100+
Ships in 5-8 working days to xxxxx". Then it's from USA. Otherwise from their UK distribution centre.

Returns are free. They have excellent customer service and if you do a return and use their tracked prepaid Royal Mail label then you often get refund as soon as it gets into Royal Mail system.
