Trinny London- clever advertising or actually good?

Just that!
All looks very tempting- I think I pretty much epitomise the target market. But it seems very pretty expensive - if it is amazing and life transforming then worth it, but can a tiny pot of eyeshadow ever be that?

I have not been impressed with the few samples of eye shadow and cheek to lips I've had, but then it's cream based and best applied with fingers, which I couldn't get the hang of without looking like a clown - however, the BFF destress tinted serum is amazing.

I’m the other way round. I find the eyeshadows lovely. Not so the BFF!
NoSauce · 03/11/2021 22:55

I’ve got a lot of Trinny London.

Love the BFF, it gives the skin a healthy glow and lightly corrects it without being heavy, the destress is fab too.. a nice coverage that lasts all day and makes the skin dewy.

I rate the lip2cheek products and the sheer shimmer.

Have you done the match2me?

Journeynotdestination · 03/11/2021 23:03

I bought four of the eye shadow pots. Only use one. The other matte shades just were too sheer and they are dark colours, I’d hoped to be able to create a good smoky eye look but can’t with them. Also they don’t work well with brushes and although I like the concept of putting my eyeshadow on with my fingers, in reality it only really works using one shade, use any more and it just looks messy.

Snoopsnoggysnog · 03/11/2021 23:04

What about the miracle blur? I get so many ads for that.

Mercurial123 · 04/11/2021 04:15

I quite like the eyeshadows. The lip/cheek product was really dry and the match2me was not accurate.

LefttoherownDevizes · 04/11/2021 06:19

I have really struggled, the match to me was Argyll for me, everything recommended was pink/lilac or warm based which do not suit me at all. I find similar with Charlotte Tilbury, really hard to get blue/grey/silver tones.

I do like the pots though, got some empties for traveling, and the highlighter is brilliant. Actually makes you look 'juicy' like you've put Vaseline on rather than sparkly

TheBullfinch · 04/11/2021 07:16

Great advertising.

The match to me resulted in a mauve/pink blush & lip colour - totally wrong for me as I'm warm.

The BFF is just a normal cream.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 04/11/2021 07:27

I found it an expensive waste of money. The BFF in particular was horribly greasy and shiny.

Rupertpenrysmistress · 04/11/2021 07:40

Great advertising but sadly a waste of money. I agree the miracle blur cream is weird quite thick and almost grainy, couldn't see any real difference. I have a lip and cheek pot but they are far to sheer almost pointless. I do quite like the BFF serum eye concealer, it's very cooling, however not sure it's worth the money either.

Kintsugi16 · 04/11/2021 08:22

I disagree, the BFF is not just a normal cream and I always get compliments when I wear it. However, if you need something with more coverage (I don’t) then it’s not for you.

slipperyeel · 04/11/2021 12:30

BFF and miracle blur are brilliant IMO, well worth the money

DocMarteens · 04/11/2021 13:09

I think Trinny gives out a lot of fashion content to support her make up brand and I find that really engaging. I have bought a fair bit of her stuff because she talked about it so much.

Everyone's skin is so different. Mine is fairly unproblematic at the moment and I needed a few things to keep in the car that I could literally do in 5 mins with my eyes closed. The BFF Destress was great for me, I have a few of the cream eyeshadows that I can messily apply and the lip to cheeks are a bit meh but they seem to last well. Not tried the new brow mascara combo because I want to use up what I have but will definitely try it out.

JinglingHellsBells · 04/11/2021 13:27

Surely it's the same story as for a lot of companies.

The actual products are made by a handful of manufacturers and the labels are the only things to differentiate them.

I doubt VERY much if Trinny has a manufacturer solely making her products.

Years ago I had a friend who worked in a food canning factory as her student holiday job. She said different labels went on the same foods - so own brand was exactly the same as a named expensive brand.

Sittinginthesand · 04/11/2021 22:16

Interesting! Thank you all. It was the eye shadow that was most tempting me as when I tried my normal Bobbi brown stuff the other day it revealed micro wrinkles and gave a sort of marbled effect. A bit like a tree bark rubbing 🤣.

Trinny is great at promotion. I don't rate her actual products much though. I think the BFFs are the best ones but you can get equally good products for less.

I use MAC paint pots.

HappyDays101010 · 04/11/2021 22:48

I like really sheer coverage (Lumene tinted serum and Chantecaille Future Skin) but I found the BFF cream really claggy on my dry skin.

MagicMatilda · 04/11/2021 22:51

Love Trinny!! The BFF is my holy grail and also loving the new mascara/brow. Lip 2 cheek is perfect when you have limited time.

Strudelorcheesecake · 04/11/2021 23:01

I've got quite a bit of her stuff. I love BFF Destress - it doesn't sit in pores or fine lines like some other foundations I've used, and has nice glowy coverage that lasts all day. The lip pots are lovely too but don't have any staying power so difficult to recommend. I like a simple smudge of eyeshadow so find the eye colours are super easy to use and suit me perfectly! Miracle blur didn't do much for me so I wouldn't repurchase it. Agree that the highlighter is great. My match2me has been spot on so far (fair skin, neutral/cool skin tone , green eyes, highlighted hair)

doadeer · 05/11/2021 08:06

My mum is in her 50s and loves Trinny. She looks great.

I tried the BFF but my holy grail is Erborian CC cream - it's all I wear.

Fluffbutt · 05/11/2021 19:37

The new BFF Rebalance serum/tinted moisturiser is brilliant for my oily skin. I also like the BFF tinted eye serum and the BFF skin perfector.

Ghostlyglow · 05/11/2021 19:50

BFF is brilliant and I love the lip2cheek too.
The match2me worked perfectly for me.

alicewasahorse · 05/11/2021 19:53

I love BFF but it doesn't last long so works out expensive for every day use for me. Also love miracle blur which I keep for nights out and special events.

jesusmaryjosephandtheweedonkey · 05/11/2021 19:55

I love the miracle blur. I use it on my elevens and lips

MissTrip82 · 05/11/2021 19:56

I liked the lip 2 cheek and miracle blur I tried but I won’t replace them when they run out. They were expensive for small containers and I like other products more.
