After-work-wear,not fleecy jimjams!

Tis the season of wanting to come home from work, get out of my work clothes (office, dress, heels usually) and chill for the evening. What do folk wear that isn't fleecy pj's? I don't want to swap dresses for jeans either, I don't find them at all comfortable to chill in.

Just in case the milk tray man happens to call in... (but not some silly lacy nonsense, I need to be warm!) Wink

Do you want pyjamas put loungewear? Is it for bed also?

Sparkai · 02/11/2021 07:10

Jumper dresses and thick tights? I like the big funnel neck ones. I also accessorise with slipper socks, but accept that it's not the best look. Quick to whip off when the milk tray man calls though

When I was shopping at the weekend, loads of places (H&M, Primark) had woollen trousers with matching jumpers. Have you tried them?

PigeonPigPie · 02/11/2021 07:13

I'm living in woolen trousers at home at the moment - basically pyjamas but look more put together and can wear with nicer t-shirt, jumper etc

Warmduscher · 02/11/2021 07:16

Can’t you just change into clothes you do find comfortable? Like trousers with some stretch and a sweatshirt, or an oversized midi dress and tights?

Though I know it’s quite a thing on MN to come home from work and change straight into pyjamas or a onesie, which I’ve always thought is really odd.

Couldhavebeenme3 · 02/11/2021 07:34

Ooooh I like the jumper dress ideas, saw something like that in H&M as I passed yesterday, will have a look!

Not thinking of changing straight into nightwear, just something unstructured and comfortable

I have some velvet leggings from Mint Velvet and wear with oversized jumpers or yoga pants and a hoody/oversized jumper for a less put together look.

Tbh I'm one of those who much prefer to put on pj's as early as poss!

Please tell me you don’t eat your dinner in your pyjamas. It must make you feel like a hospital patient.

Hate to advertise for Tesco or Mrs Hinch but, even though I suspect they might be too fleecy for you, the new Mrs Hinch loungewear range I did think was lovely. I just can't justify the purchase when I have jimjams and jumpers already.

Sweater dresses or jersey palazzos.

Missatkins · 02/11/2021 17:51

I chill out in this.. Really comfy but also stylish.

Loungewear or leggings and a long to0. I favou let the leggings and long too as it's comfortable and I don't feel awkward if anyone knocks in the door!

SpookyScarySkeletons · 02/11/2021 18:26

Excuse typos. I have covid and my head is trying to explode and I have terrible brain fog!!

Daisy62 · 02/11/2021 18:42

I dress casually day to day, so am often in jeans - I swap my jeans for black or blue denim jeggings if I want to be comfier in the evening.
