It's still chilly at night. Trousers and a nice top are my evening wear there with layers and a thick wrap

TheCanyon · 01/11/2021 17:21

Your coat!

Frostytiger87 · 01/11/2021 17:23

I've been to lanzarote in mid January before and in the night it was cold. Coat and scarf cold! Daytime warm /hot.

Frostytiger87 · 01/11/2021 17:33

Oh really , we will be going in our coats
I’m just wondering if people dress up in the evening & what to take

We've been to both Tenerife and Lanzarote in winter, Lanzarote was bloody freezing at night, about 14 degrees. Tenerife stayed about 18.

You don't need dressy clothes unless you're going to a mega fancy hotel.

Do take a coat just in case though, I wish I had.

Spoonio · 01/11/2021 17:36

We didn't see anyone properly dressed up, and we went to a few fancy tasting menu type places.

I just took long sleeve comfy maxi dresses for the evenings.

QueenofLouisiana · 01/11/2021 17:38

Where are you staying: both geographically and in what type of accommodation? Northern Lanzarote was really quite chilly in the evening and I wore cotton trousers, top and a cardigan or wrap.
South of the island was warmer and I wore long skirts or dresses with sleeves and a wrap/ cardigan.

Spoonio · 01/11/2021 17:38

Oh hang on, at our hotel it seemed like some of the over 60-70s went out in fancy evening wear.

But we didn't see anyone younger very dressed up.

Ozanj · 01/11/2021 17:41

I personally find Lanzarote really cold in the winter. In the evenings I just wear what I’d normally wear in the autumn here.

Kipperandarthur · 01/11/2021 18:01

Trousers and layers if you are eating outside as it’s cold once the sun has gone down.
Cold first thing, nice early mid 20s during the day and 16 degrees perhaps at night.
Different if eating inside of a hotel etc

Theuniverseandeverything · 01/11/2021 19:08

I went to Gran Canaria one Christmas and it wasn’t cold at all. It was so hot we couldn’t look at a Christmas dinner. I spent one Easter holiday in Lanzarote however and wore the same leggings all week as it was freezing and not shorts and tops weather at all.

I would take normal holiday clothes, casual sun clothes for daytime and a few nice dresses or skirts for evenings but not too dressed up.

WaltzingBetty · 01/11/2021 19:48

It depends on where you're staying surely? Confused

It's like asking what people wear in the UK.
I expect those staying in 5 star hotels and dining at Michelin restaurants dress differently to those staying at Butlins and eating at wetherspoons

😂🤣 14c is practically balmy up North!

I’m glad I read this thread because we are going to Lanzarote in January and I wouldn’t have thought to take warm clothes for the evening!

Thankyou for all your replies , we’ve never been away in Dec so really appreciate the advice .
Anniesnap I really wasn’t sure and I’m glad that I asked the question 🙋‍♀️
