Hair style advice

I have very thick, currently long, wavy/frizzy hair that hates humidity. I am desperate to get it cut shorter, Bob/lob of some description but I'm scared of looking like her out of Wallace and Gromit when the rain hits me!

I will be getting it thinned out as much as I can and I'm happy to use straighteners every day to tame. Does anyone with this sort of hair have a short hair cut they can show me for inspiration? I've googled and of course all the hairstyles look lovely on models but I'd like some real life views if possible! Thank you!

Get it cut by someone who understands wavy hair, and get a style that is wavy then you can straighten it if you like but not have to

The only time I have managed to have short hair with this style (and even then, not that short, a very sleek bob) was when I had a keratin treatment first. Keratin treatments are wonderful - make your hair sleek and smooth, getting rid of all frizz, as if someone very talented had blow-dried it.

Can you embrace the frizziness and make the waves into curls? Then choose a curly-hair suited short-cut. I agree with the poster above that you would need a talented hair-dresser who really understands curls.

Agree with above - utilise those waves. Very popular wavy lob could be yours without the faff of straightening and then barrel tonging. Google curly girl approved hairdressers in your area.

Something like this? Or you could go for a more asymmetric cut with shorter at the back and a steeper gradient down to the front.

That hairstyle is nice but I wouldn't go shorter at the back
I don't like the gradient bobs

Thanks everyone! Love that photo of the Bob. My waves never look that polished 😭

You need L'Oréal extraordinary hair oil- the original one not the one for coloured hair. Also a Revlon One Step if you have the budget for a gadget.

Your hairdresser needs to do a deep cut which involves slicing onto the weight of the bottom of the hair to thin it out.

Mine is slightly graduated to be longer at the front

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor thank you for that, I'll tell the hairdresser to do that. And I'm looking for the oil now!
