Black Friday- does John Lewis participate?

I know that before some major stores didn't do anything on principle and can't remember if JL was one.

At the moment they have 15-20% off some beauty stuff and I'm wondering if it will be repeated later on (only I am undecided on what to buy as it's for presents!)

No idea if British companies participate. I had nothing I had my eye on last year so I really can't remember. I know it's officially an American thing so I'd guess companies like hollister will have deals, but this year I want to get either a roxy white waterproof insulated coat or a northface arctic parka at a discounted price.

Lots of British companies do it, but some (noses in the air) declined on the basis that they have discounts throughout the year.

JL will match other companies BF deals. I got a mulberry handbag that way when they matched House of Fraser Black Friday deals and I was waiting for JL because I had JL vouchers from various friends for a big birthday.

Yes, I think they will price match but only with companies that have a physical store. Not online only.

John Lewis do usually participate. I have had some lovely bargains in their BF sales. Great for Christmas shopping!
