Can wool content be softened?

I have just bought this dress from Seasalt, just arrived. I tried it on, and it was immediately irritating to my skin. It's 85% organic cotton and 15% wool.
Is there any thing that can be done to mitigate the scratchiness, or should I just return immediately?
It would be a shame as a nice dress Sad

People will tell you to wear something underneath it, but nothing stops wool irritating my skin, so that may not work for you

I recently bought a wool top that said on the label ‘if you find this garment itchy, wear for 15 minutes to let the fibres warm up, and the itch should disappear’. I was very sceptical, but it worked!

@ilovecherries I will give that a go!

You could wear a turtleneck or mock turtleneck under that dress and I think it would look good and help with the itchiness, and a slip also for the bottom half.

No I can wear merino, cashmere and yak wool but even a low percentage of normal wool kills me

I'm sending it back. Even without the itchiness, it's too baggy and does me no favours.

Nothing works for me

It’s to do with the coarseness of the fibre

I can wear cashmere and merino, but not lambs wool

There is no way to change the fibre or the sensitivity of your skin, sadly
