How would you style this top?

Thinking I'll wear it open so v neck shape rather than high neck. It's pretty sheer. It's more a mid grey than dark.

Slim legged black tapered trousers & boots - have a look on the whistles website for ideas on shillouette / shape. I've bought several pairs of trousers from there recently & they're great. But once you know the shape you'd like you can buy elsewhere cheaper.

Or slim straight legged jeans

Tucked into simple straight legged trousers or jeans. If you are concerned by how sheer it is put plain black cami under it. It could be dressed up more with leather trousers and high heels etc or down with trainers and a denim jacket? Depends where you are going?

Thanks, I'm going out to a reasonably smart place, while I think it would look good with leather trousers they're just really not me.

I also don't really wear black trousers Grin

I'm thinking tucked into darkish blue or grey straight leg or wide leg jeans.

Shoe wise, I have black pointy flats with ankle strap, black slightly chunky flat boots with metal buckles, or trainers.

I agree about leather trousers, they look nice on other people but I don’t think I’d wear them. Wide leg jeans are a good idea although I struggle with shoes to go with and avoiding full on 70s vibe? But have a google for wide leg Jean inspo and see if something grabs your attention.

Those barrel leg jeans are nice and the pointy shoes you mention might work well together, possibly the boots though. Not sure I’d try trainers for reasonably smart unless the rest of the outfit was quite fancy (in my world that means a dress)

What about quite plain simple skirts? Maybe I’m wrong but I think that top needs something simple on the bottom personally.

I wamdered into Primark today and they had some really nice looking waxed trousers - looked similar to leather but not quite. They are black but I think they'd look really good with that top.

Broomstick, black cat , striped tights and crumpled hat. Little green hued foundation and lots of black eyeliner.

Thanks, what sort of style are they?

I would say jeans style I think? I didn't look too closely as I was there to examine their fake oodies that everyone's been talking about.

My very first thought was "with two pistols, riding boots and leather" due to the highwayman duster coat style shoulders, so I'd avoid any of those things and go for slim or straight jeans in a paler colour - the suggestion of grey sounds great - and obviously modern/girly shoulder bag/shoes. Maybe larger earrings too, depending on taste.

I’d go for a straight cream skirt. I’d wear the neck open. I feel constrained in high necks.

Haha!

I have some big gold earrings, and some big pearl chandelier ones... Will try them out thanks

I like the concept of this outfit but have quite a lardy arse and feel like a straight skirt would look dreadful on me...
