how do I protect the colour
Any recommendations ?

Not sure how good the colour protection shampoos and conditioners are, but I’ve been blonde for many years now and only just discovered toner. Jerome Russell toner for blonde hair is about £3 on Amazon. I actually used the grey toner on my hair and it gave it a very ashy blonde tint. Lots of people gave me compliments and said my hair looked really shiny. I couldn’t believe how well it worked for the price. The colour lasted a good few weeks before I needed another one.

I use Josh Wood on mine and I like it.

I'm also blonde. Will look up that toner recommended by the pp as well

Olaplex is meant to be really good but it's quite pricey I think.

Purple shampoo is good to stop the brass too. I'll just find the one I use and posta picture.

I have heard good things about opelex , anyone use it ?

It's £15 and has been great at keeping the brassy yellow at bay.

My hairdresser recommends Pureology for coloured hair. I use Olaplex and also this Revolution dupe.

SocksAndTheCity · 30/10/2021 22:44

I like Olaplex (my hair is elbow length with a balayage and the mid lengths-ends can get dry) and they've just released a purply coloured version which might fit the bill?

I don't rate the shampoo and conditioner and I use Pureology which is great (it's expensive but you only need a little each time and it lasts for ages). Olaplex I'd recommend the 0,3,6,7 (the oil) and 8 (the mask) Smile.

Thanks@paisley256
My hair is now what the hairdresser called a ‘ clean blonde ‘ so I need to keep any brassiness away

Fanola No More Yellow is a very good purple shampoo.

Olaplex 3 used a couple of times a month will also help the structure of the hair which in turn seems to keep it looking fresher.

Thanks all I have heard good things about opelex , anyone use it ?
Yes, I've used it. It doesn't do anything immediately. It's meant to be used longterm, which I haven't done religiously... I do think it's doing something though.

Aveda blue malva shampoo and conditioner is great. Expensive but the big bottles last ages.

Girlintheframe · 31/10/2021 08:43

Really rate the aveda blue malva too
