Are cheaper IPLs generally no good?

I was wondering why say a Phillips might work better than something cheaper? Is it to do with how powerful it is?
Has anyone bought a cheaper one but ended up buying something more expensive?

It completely depends on your hair type, make sure you check before you invest.

I have a mix of dark and light hair, unfortunately I haven’t been that impressed with the Phillips lumea. It’s incredibly time consuming as well. I am thinking of paying for laser treatments!

Thanks
I should be an ideal candidate/ pale skin and dark hair. I want to get rid of the black hairs that are sprouting all over my chin and jawline.

I bought a cheaper one from Amazon about 18 months ago. I don't have to shave as often, maybe twice a week and have bald patches on my legs.

I'd have more success if I used it more but it's a complete faff and takes ages to do.
