Cream eyeshadow for the incompetent?

Having read the ‘dated makeup’ thread and looked at some tutorials I attempted to do eyeshadow on my hooded, delicate (aka papery) eyes. It did not go well. The powder collected in previously invisible micro-wrinkles giving a kind of marbled effect, I don’t seem to be able to blend or even get the blessed stuff in the right place. Should I try some cream eyeshadow or give up? I am 43 blue eyes & yellow hair.

What brand of eyeshadow are you using? I have the same issues and use a creamy primer by elf with a Mac powder eyeshadow on top. I find cream eyeshadows crack and fall of in clumps or the colours are too bright or too shiny for me.

I find you need a primer for it to sit well
Elf putty eye primer is my fave cheaper one, urban decay potion primer for more ££
