Wedding Guest in December - Sleeveless Dress. Would you wear a shrug/bolero?

Hi everyone, I am going to a wedding in December, in between Christmas and New Year so will be cold.

It's quite an intimate affair just short ceremony then lunch in a pub and I'm planning to wear a dress that is already in my wardrobe which is lovely (lace pencil dress) but is sleeveless and I'm worried it will look a bit stupid at that time of year?

Would you get a shrug/bolero type thing....I've had a look and they are all a bit....ugly?

Grateful for peoples thoughts...

Definitely, I'm shivering at the thought!

Sequin blazer?
Velvet or velour jacket?
One of Nancy Mac's amazing cover-ups? www.nancymac.co.uk/collections/shrugs

Can we see the dress?

Nice coat the same length as the dress?

Haus1234 · 26/10/2021 20:32

Yes I would because otherwise I’d freeze!!

Hope this works - this is the dress, couldn't find it on any UK website was a while ago I bought it.

I love the nancy mac stuff but not wanting to spend quite that much, would be better off just buying a new dress with sleeves!

Short faux fur all the way

I love a feather bolero, ideally ostrich rather than marabou. You get some great ones on eBay in lovely colours, you could coordinate with shoes etc. Or faux fur or velvet could be nice too.

Never even heard of a feather bolero, away to search now. Was thinking faux fur but getting one for DD and don't want to look like we are trying to match!
