Dear Frances or Stuart Weitzman Boots?

I’m planning to buy a beautiful pair of flat leather boots s a gift to myself (haven’t bought new boots in 7 years so feel I can treat myself) and am between a pair of Dear Frances boots or Stuart Weitzman boots. I am slim but my ankles are quite undefined. Does anyone own either brand and what are your thoughts? Or any other recommendations- budget up to about £400

I like SW. I have both boots and shoes are they are quite comfortable. Have been looking at DF too, they look nice. If you ended up buying from them please do come and update the thread Smile

The Dear Frances boots were very underwhelming to me, style over substance IMO that gets a good rep through paid social media influencers.

SW is a solid shoe brand just not my personal style. The only thing I'd watch out for is that their cheaper styles are sometimes made in China and they are considerably less substantial.

Other brands I'd look at for boots (I'm assuming knee high) but you'd probably need to find them with a discount or on sale are Legres, Sergio Rossi, A.P.C. and Aquazurra.

Also, Aeyde is worth looking at. If you like Dear Frances for the more trend driven aspect, Alohas is comparable but without the ambitious price tag.

Thanks both, @@AnaViaSalamanca - that’s good to know. I will let you know if I go for DF .@botemp I’m looking at ankle boots- the plainer designs without lots of fuss! Will check out the other brands you have mentioned too

I also like Aeyde and Stuart Weitzman. I find SW very comfortable on the whole and they are my go-to for boots.
I haven't ever tried Dear Frances but I don't think you can really go wrong with SW.

Legres is very plain (in a good way) there's quite a glut of it on Yoox at the moment at very low prices.

Wandler has some nice ankle boots at the moment as well, bit more of a design feel to them but still restrained, beautifully made shoes but the soles are very thin on a lot of them so a bit more prone to damage.

Oooh, think I have fallen in love with some Aeyde boots now!
