Which colour Cambridge Satchel bag do I want? Please help me decide!

I've been coveting this bag www.cambridgesatchel.com/collections/womens-the-bowls-bag and going to take the plunge. It will be my main day bag so for keys, purse etc. I'm pretty casual but well put together so nice stylish jumpers and jeans/boots in winter, pretty tops and dresses in summer. Colour..I'm caught between what I like and what's practical. I like: the bright red, the oxblood, the grounded celtic grain and the french grey. I probably like the oxblood most but its more of an evening/winter colour I think so I might use it less. Bright red might not go with as much, but more fun than the others. French blue- my second favourite but might show marks easily. Celtic grain- bit..boring? But probably the easiest to wear. Any suggestions much appreciated, it's a pricey purchase so want to have properly considered it.

I like the Oxblood but that is my preferred colour in leather handbags. I have a Demellier in Oxblood and it goes with everything. That being said my parents are buying me an Amberly satchel for Christmas and I'm going for a green one.

I have a Cambridge satchel that my parents bought me for a birthday when I was at Uni, it's bright yellow and I love it. I wanted a statement piece. It hasn't marked at all, anything that has appeared has easily been cleaned off, no scuffs and I used it daily for uni and then work pre-lockdown. Go for the fun colour, it's totally worth it.

@lipsandlashes I really like their oxblood colour too. Would love this bag in a green!

Bright red!

I was in-store recently to check out this bag as I've been coveting it too. It's either going to be the oxblood red or the bright red for me. Both lovely. I've had the poppy bag for a long time, still love it and it looks almost brand new despite regular use. I'm hoping the bowls bag will last me a long time too.

I have the bright red and the yellow. They're both lovely but I adore the yellow 😍

I have a bright red satchel, I use it daily for work and have done for 10 years, it still looks as good as new.

Oxblood for me.

I'd get sick of the bright red after 6 months or so.

Have you tried out that style? It looks as though it would roll over when you undid the buckles.

My oxblood satchel goes with everything. Would recommend.

Hmm leaning towards yellowy one now..think french grey is out. It's a three horse race!

Oxblood or grounded celtic one - grounded celtic is limited edition so may be the one to buy first.

I have a cloud bag in French Grey and it's very, very seasonal. It looks odd in winter with dark coats and brown boots.

@gfy678686 it's great, I love it and get a lot of compliments on it. I find it a nice size too.

I've got a Coach bag in Oxblood that I'm using for work and I find it goes with everything.

sorry to hijack your post OP, but for the poster who said they had the Poppy is it quite roomy? I've got my eye on that but its difficult to judge online.

I looked before I read your post and update OP and my eye was drawn to the pale bluey grey (bit summery tho) and then the red.

But looking at the pictures of people with the bags, both the red and the oxblood look a lot lighter and brighter - so the red is really bright and oxblood (which looks a bit dark in the item pic) might be better. Lovely bag tho.

Mm I agree, I think their oxblood bags look better in matte leather than grained. I think I'll choose between green or the bright red for this bag then I'm eyeing the melody or poppy in oxblood for future.
