No it was a good try, but it has to be a Finn

QuintessentialShadowOfSnowball · 11/12/2007 11:34

So Kama, er du fra soer eller nord?

NotQuiteCockney · 11/12/2007 12:09

Um, Buda, what about Estonian? Same family of languages, same weirdo sort of language (e.g. duration counts. Hence all the double letters in Finnish, I guess).

SSStollenzeit · 11/12/2007 12:15

I've been thinking girls, the reason we're not meeting enough Finns is we haven't yet mastered the lingo. Here we go, lesson 1 , Finnish for foreigners. Doesn't sound at all like Hungarian to me. What'dya think Buda?

QuintessentialShadowOfSnowball · 11/12/2007 12:19

No, it doesnt sound hungarian, though these languages are in the same language group, like norwegian and danish and german and dutch are in the Germanic group of languages, but they are not the same language.

Got two Finns working in my small office of 20ish in EC1. So I can offer a spare Finn to anyone who feels they would benefit from such a presence in her life.

kittylouise · 11/12/2007 16:14

Lol at the thread madness.

I have a Lithuanian in the family. Does this carry any clout in the scano-baltic league table?

Lithuanians are a bit loopy (but in a good way) and the women are sickeningly, hatefully beautiful. The men however look like toads.

CodRestYeMerryGentelmen · 11/12/2007 16:18

lol at sharing a finn
they are a proud bunch imo

My SIL is Finnish and lovely and always dresses warmly. Not sure about Finn's generally but if they're like my SIL, they're a brilliant race!
And they did produce the lovely Kimi!

CodRestYeMerryGentelmen · 11/12/2007 16:24

When I lived in Australia one of the things I was looking forward to when I got back to the UK was being able to wear winter clothes. They did sell them in Oz but they were totally unnecessary where I was (high 30s every day...)

fishie · 11/12/2007 18:50

i saw a woman in a winter coat, troseurs and peep toed shoes today. she looked ridiculous.

icod4by4 · 11/12/2007 18:51

fishie · 11/12/2007 18:53
