Is your bra size usually in stock?

I've just come back from a shopping trip, including looking at bras in M&S, and virtually none of my preferred styles were available in my size (32F). They make them in that size, but were out of stock. And it got me to thinking that this is nearly always the case when I go bra shopping - the two places I go are M&S and John Lewis on Oxford Street, London, so main branches. I generally have to make do with a style that's not what I really wanted, or fudge it with a 34E.
Is it an oversight by the stores or is it a statistical/perception thing?
Does anyone else find this with other sizes?

I’m a 32b and mine are never in stock. Typical isn’t it, it’s always the size you’re wanting that’s missing!

Eileen101 · 26/10/2021 15:02

I hear you! I was a 32F pre pregnancy, and although I'm waiting to finish breastfeeding, I fully expect to be at least a 32G. They're never in stock. Ever. It's like there's a perception that small band/large cup size is a complete waste of time because no one wants them. Or each store has something like 3 in their stock order, anticipating that they won't sell Angry

nordica · 26/10/2021 15:08

This is why, when I find a style I like, I usually buy it in a couple of colours online so I don't have to go bra shopping again for a while.

Most shops still use a very old fashioned measuring system and most people still think they are a 36C when measured properly they are a 32G or something...

LoathesomeLinsey · 26/10/2021 15:11

I usually search by bra size so only see my size Grin

Have you tried Brastop? They have quite a lot on there and you just type your size into the search bar.

I have always found M&S to be bigger in the cups and smaller in the back than brands like Freya or Curvy Kate. So you may be OK going up a back size and down a cup size.

ChristinaRussell · 26/10/2021 15:12

Today they seemed to have lots of 40s and not many 32s at all. It's really frustrating when anything over a D cup is hard to find anyway.

I find my size is frequently out of stock in store - 36D.

But I always see LOADS of 36s!

Apparently 36D is the average UK bra size...

Mine isn't even stocked anywhere but bravissimo!

ChatterMonkey · 26/10/2021 15:19

Im 32C and never really have an issue with finding one in my size. But i guess its a pretty standard size.

Mustardbay · 26/10/2021 15:19

36jj so only bravissimo!

CeeceeBloomingdale · 26/10/2021 15:19

I'm somewhere between 34E and 36DD. I tend to buy 36DD as they are normally easy to find whereas 34E are quite tricky. I have more success in places you wouldn't usually expect to buy lingerie like Matalan and H&M.

Scarby9 · 26/10/2021 15:20

No 34B nonwired fror the last 4 weeks in the two M&Ss near me

BrambleyHedge · 26/10/2021 15:20

Isn't M&S because they do the plus 4 measuring thing? I have never seen my size there 32G but they would probably say I'm a 38D or something and would have that in stock.

StTherese · 26/10/2021 15:25

42K / 44J here so I normally buy mine from Simply Be - I can't wear uw ones so tend to stick to Glamorise ones. Not exactly glamorous but always fit me fine and are very comfortable. Amazon sometimes has them on offer too.

TheCheeseBadge · 26/10/2021 15:29

I was going to say the same thing - most shops don't stock those sizes because the way they measure, no one would ever be the size.

I have the same problem, I always measure myself using the Boob or Bust method and then order online. It can get costly with returns though if you order a few to try them out. I also love Molke bras, which have their own sizing (although based on BoB).

ZednotZee · 26/10/2021 15:31

Yes, 36DD. Common.

I can even buy bras in the likes of asda and primark if I have to.

black2black · 26/10/2021 15:33

34B is NEVER in stock wherever I go

GiltEdges · 26/10/2021 15:34

I'm a 30C and often struggle to find my size in stock.

ninadust · 26/10/2021 15:34

32H and never!!!!

Terribleluck · 26/10/2021 15:35

Is that your BOB? I changed system and now I can find my bras anywhere!!

ShirleyPhallus · 26/10/2021 15:36

I nearly had a little cry in M&S the other week. At the Marble Arch one but as a 34GG it’s bloody impossible to find nice bras and they had millions on the shelf but barely any in my size

shakingmytambourineatyou · 26/10/2021 15:40

It's hopeless. I am 30G. Don't even look any more.

MarleneDietrichsSmile · 26/10/2021 15:45

34D, just bought 2 today. Easy to get

Very nog standard size I think?

TangledUp789 · 26/10/2021 16:03

George have loads of bras in 32F, I actually noticed some reduced ones when I was shopping in Asda yesterday (the one perk of being a less common size is that you can sometimes find a super cheap bra in the final reductions of the sale). I’m a 30H and they even sell a couple in my size, which surprised me.

I predict that in two or three years everyone will be using the Boob Or Bust method and a 32F or 30H will be available in every shop.
