Glerups or Celtic & Co slipper boots

Can't decide which slippers to buy.

I have a pair of Glerups and they are extremely comfortable but the leather soles are now shiny and extremely slippy and they can't go in the washing machine. Celtic & Co boots are less stylish iMO but are washable. www.celticandco.com/womens/footwear/sheepskin-slippers/sheepskin-slippers-bootee

Has anyone got the glerups with the rubber sole - www.husandhem.co.uk/glerups-slippers/6845-glerups-felt-rubber-sole-boot-charcoal.html
Are they really non-slip?

Which would you buy /choose?

My last 2 pairs of Celtic have not lasted well unfortunately.

Shame as my DH has a paid from about 8 years ago that still look like new, and he wears them a lot. I think the quality has gone down sadly.

Ah ok - that's a shame. I don't want to pay £80 for slippers that fall apart quickly

I’ve got celtic and Co ones similar to that and the front seam has split on one of them. I have left them at my parents to wear there, so still wearable, but not sure if they’d last if I was wearing them all the time

I’ve had the Celtic slippers you linked for either three or four years (can’t remember which). I wear them every day, all summer and all winter. Never off my feet in the house and I am pretty hard on them. They are only starting to wear out now, the seam is starting to split on both but I am going to sew this back up. They have been washed several times too, even though they don’t seem to get smelly. They come out looking a bit sorry for themselves but once back on the feet are fine again. Best slippers I ever bought.
I bought Ugg’s previously which only lasted a few months, same with Emus. I also get the insoles from Celtic for extra warmth and height. These wash up lovely too.
I’ve actually bought a new pair in a lovely green colour but they haven’t been on my feet yet as I am still too attached to my originals. Mine are in the blue iris colour. So good, I’ll never waste money on anything else.
Celtic also seem v good on customer service so if any issues they do seem to fix these. I haven’t experienced any problems myself but have noticed this in the reviews that they do seem on top of things in that respect.

I have the leather sole Glerups and my son has the rubber sole. They are non-slip, do not need washing or get whiffy and a pair usually lasts about 6 years. The whole family have them as they last so well.

@Terriergrrrrrrrr
has your leather sole glerups got all smooth and shiny? I'm not sure if I'm particularly hard with slippers but they didn't seem to last long with the nice finish

Yes, my leather soles are smooth and shiny now (current pair is 3yrs old) but I've never slipped (carpet upstairs, wood flooring or tiles downstairs, seagrass matting on the stairs - so I've tried them on all possible surfaces).

ADreadedSunnyDay · 26/10/2021 15:01

@Terriergrrrrrrrr
Good to know - I've not slipped either but DH has spent all week lecturing me on 'an accident waiting to happen' when he caught sight of my Glerups - I think I'll ask for the rubber-soled ones for Xmas to allay his fears
