Foundation for woman in her 50s?

I’m 53 and basically haven’t worn any foundation since the start of the pandemic! I’ve got out of the habit. I’ve been wearing concealer and highlighter/ bronzer. Anyway now I’m getting out and about more and will hopefully have a few events to go to over the winter, I would like a new foundation or tinted moisturiser. I have very dry skin, and don’t want anything that will settle in my crows feet! I like a dewy finish.
Any recommendations?

I'm 51 and use Erborian BB creme. It's fabulous! It looks like it's my natural skin but actually it evens my skin out and makes me look great. No idea what sorcery Erborian uses but it's a winner.

Another Trinny convert, I've replaced everything with her products. They really are magic.

Another vote for Boots No. 7. I don't wear foundation much but this is my go-to when I do.

The other thing is check the colour - my skin is now two shades darker (freckly strawberry blonde once upon a time now going white etc) and it made a huge difference to how I felt in foundation - I use a hydra version of lightweight foundation with a slight dust of powder so as to not show too many wrinkles etc

hoveringhobbit · 26/10/2021 19:12

Where can I buy Eborian in person so I can check my shade?

I'm also in my 50"s and I have been wearing Chantecaille Just.Skin tinted moisturizer for years. I have never been able to find anything that comes close. It gives a lovely glow.and lasts beautifully all day.

I wear Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser (the original one) as well.

MissyB1 · 26/10/2021 19:23

My skin tone is definitely changing with age. It’s darker now than it used to be, so it’s true that you can’t necessarily stick to the same shade. It’s a tricky business!

I flit between Eborian CC cream and the mew Clinique Serum foundation (pea size to do my whole face - but I only really apply around nose and chin).

Also the much overlooked classic Mac Face and Body. A brilliant foundation - sheer but buildable when more is required and a vast number of shades. Doesn’t settle and comfortable to wear too. Always have a bottle on the go.

I use bb tinted moisturiser x

loobylou10 · 26/10/2021 19:33

I found sea magik bb recommended on here and bought some. It's fabulous

I recommend boots no 7 cc cream.

Ponks · 26/10/2021 20:02

Boots No7 Hydraluminous or the newer Hydraluminous cc cream which is very light but surprisingly flattering even so.

Another vote for the Glossier tint. I also hear good things about the Fenty skin tint. It's available in large Boots stores, though I'm having trouble tracking down a shade suitable for me. It seems even in grey Britain Uber pale skin isn't particularly common

BeaLola · 26/10/2021 23:45

Erborian I like but my most reliable is the Chanel Les Beiges tinted moisturiser - I like the Spf level in it too

MamsellMarie · 28/10/2021 08:16

Do you still need primer under these all in one moisturiser/foundation type products ?
Have just ordered the Trinny one
