Can you please help me find a necklace like this ?

I saw this necklace on a trip to Madrid & fell in love.
I tried it on but the chain was too short, making it more of a choker style than how it looks on the model stand. The chain was not adjustable.
It's 18k gold & natural gemstones & this one happened to include our birthstone which I loved.

Can anyone recommend where I might look for a similar idea? I don't want gold plated/ vermeil.

The stones were - amythest, rose quartz, peridot, turquoise, 3 tiny rubies & I can't remember the others

I'm struggling to find anything near similar using Google image search or by your description Op.

But I saw this (very different) & wondered if you could contact Etsy or Not on the High Street & see if anyone would make something as similar to the one you saw, including your birthstone?

You should be able to take it to a jeweller and get the length altered.

If you take this picture into a local jeweller, they will be able to tell you if it's possible. I've had many chains altered to make them shorter...it's rare that they can't do it.

Sorry, just saw you talked about lengthening it, not shortening it.

It's an unusual necklace alright. I have seen lots of the ones with the various gemstones interspersed regularly around the length of the chain & I like them but it's not exactly what I'm after.

The chain on this was v unusual so while I contemplated seeing if a piece could be added I reckoned it would be difficult if not impossible to match
Plus it was an expensive item & I wouldn't buy it unless it was perfect for me

When I put it on it was sitting v tight to the base of my throat & would have sat awkwardly on most necklines or else I'd b e limited to only wearing it with v-necks

I have a birthday coming up & dh wanted to buy it for me. I v v reluctantly resisted but have not stopped thinking about it

I thought it would be relatively easy to find something similar but it's not...

Try Googling a brand called Antica Murrina, they have pieces very similar

There is a shop in Lanark (scotland) called Ianthe boutique, the owner is greek and makes and designs most of the things in the shop. They certainly have similar styles but I'm not sure they would be the same materials etc. Might be worth a look though. They have a Facebook page.

You need a skilled, independent goldsmith. I don’t know how much that original piece was (can you recall?) but the NAJ (National Association of Jewellers) would be able to recommend one.

OR - buy the piece and get it altered. Honestly don’t worry about the unusual nature of the chain (it looks like a very sturdy/chunky linked rolo chain to me) which can be replicated. I’d see if you can have the piece sent to you and adjusted.

Could you contact the shop in madrid to ask if they could add some length?

Although you'd probably have to go and get it as customs will be high to import it.

Or send the photo to jewellers on etsy to see if someone could make it. Also you could talk to your local jewellery shops to ask if they could recommend someone.

I asked in the shop if it came in a longer length or could it be adjusted & they couldn't do that.

The price was €1,500 & for that reason I was not willing to buy it & then have to faff about looking to get it adjusted or have it sit in its box because it was the wrong length

I was really hoping that with so many people using mumsnet someone might have come across a jeweller/ brand with a similar style.

I have looked up the suggestions & am grateful but they're not quite right for what I have my heart set on so far

I think what you want is an ‘as near as damn it’ to that one!

So as I say, for that equivalent price you’d be well placed asking some independent goldsmiths for a quote. Show them the photo you have and explain - you may be surprised - and it’ll be unique to you.
