Hi @DarlingFell, did you have the lip flip in the end? Came here looking for the same advice!

goodjoujou · 29/01/2022 09:23

Me too I want to know!

JinglingHellsBells · 29/01/2022 09:29

what on earth is it?

goodjoujou · 29/01/2022 10:32

It’s for thin lips. It’s tiny amounts of Botox injected just above the lip to lift and reveal more of the lip so you have a fuller look. No fillers are involved so no trout pout, just more visibility of your own lip.

SirChenjins · 29/01/2022 10:34

Does that not pull your lip up to show your top teeth? Confused

Lookingoutside · 29/01/2022 14:13

Bump!

Mercurial123 · 29/01/2022 14:40

Is it worth it?

Cons: A lip flip can negatively impact your lip functions and change the way you speak in some instances. If you’re unhappy with your results, you have to wait about three months for the effects to wear off.

sunnybunnyy · 29/01/2022 14:46

Yes, personally I didn't think it was worth it, Botox made it feel numb which was weird when drinking things.
I haven't had fillers but I would be more tempted to get them and not bother with the lip flip

TheNeverEndingOver · 29/01/2022 18:08

@sunnybunnyy how long did it last for you? I’m booked in for next week but getting less convinced about it

sunnybunnyy · 29/01/2022 19:33

It was a few years ago so I can't remember exactly, i just remember trying to drink a coffee and it dribbling down my chin! As if i had beento the dentist

polavary · 29/01/2022 19:40

Sunny did this happen for 3 months?!

Feather12 · 29/01/2022 19:45

I think a lip flip looks better than fillers, which often look a bit oblong/blocky. But lip flips don’t last long at all, not as long as Botox in other areas. Often weeks rather than months.

sunnybunnyy · 30/01/2022 07:38

It definitely didn't feel numb for months but i have very thin lips and I don't think it made enough of a difference to be worth it. I think I could get lip fillers and it not look fake. I think I'm going to try 0.5ml and see

HasaDigaEebowai · 30/01/2022 07:44

I have it for medical reasons due to an issue on one side of my face. It lifts one side of my mouth.

lostinthoughts · 30/01/2022 07:47

Yes I have. Results were very subtle but I already have fairly full so I didn't get much injected.

Agree with PP that it felt weird and slightly numb for a while and I struggled to grip my lips firmly around things....such as my water bottle spout Wink

goodjoujou · 30/01/2022 09:49

I don’t want my wine dribbling down my chin haha! So it sounds like it gives very subtle results so maybe not that worth it as it’s not cheap

TheNeverEndingOver · 30/01/2022 15:48

@lostinthoughts haha!

Thanks - do you remember how long the numbness lastest? I think I might give it a go as its so temporary, but just trying to weigh out the positives to negatives!

olivehater · 30/01/2022 15:50

My mum used to have something put in above her lip, not sure if it was Botox or fillers. It just gave her a weird duck lip.

TheNeverEndingOver · 31/01/2022 14:50

I think I'm going to go ahead and get this, so happy to feedback to anyone else interested in it after I do! Its booked in for Thursday

lostinthoughts · 31/01/2022 15:01

Numbness didn't last too long. I had it done in early December and it's gone now.

lostinthoughts · 31/01/2022 15:01

Good luck. Hope it works well for you

TheNeverEndingOver · 31/01/2022 16:56

Great, thanks lostinthoughts

IvorCutler · 31/01/2022 20:25

I know someone who had one very recently and she looks amazing. It is so subtle and looks very natural but really changes her smile.
