Where can I buy a coat like this?

Hi everyone! I need to find winter coat. I'm 5 foot 10, with broad shoulders and hips but a small waist. Very long arms. Looking for something that nips in at the waist. Maybe something like the attached photos. Any ideas where I can buy a coat like this from (ideally somewhere on the High Street where I can actually try it on?). Thanks!!

I had one a decade ago from Hobbs. Nipped at the waist, navy, lacing at the back. I don’t know where to get a new one these days though.

I have something similar to your description that I am selling on Vinted. It's navy with leopard print lining.

No help - I'm watching !

Hobbs have a couple. Vintage style brands like voodoo vixen, hell bunny, collectif might be good. Small scottish brand called totty rocks too.

This is my sort of cut too, don't care how fashionable it is cos it's so nice on me. I have big hips and straighter cuts are all wrong sadly. I make my own now too.

Any of these suit?

I had a gorgeous one from topshop also about ten years ago. Most flattering coat ever. Good luck!

Search for ‘princess coat’ and it might bring up similar coats

Heartsandroses · 24/10/2021 00:38

Joe browns?

MrsEricBana · 24/10/2021 00:39

Trying searching "skater coat"

Fridgebotherer · 24/10/2021 01:01

Burberry if you are spending a lot, or as pp said, Joe Browns.

I got one like that 10 years ago from Dunnes Stores (?) Had never seen one like it before and haven't seen one since. Lovely coats, hope you find one!

Oh amazing! Thanks so much for all the replies! So helpful! So you've taught me I'm searching for a 'fit and flare' or 'skater' or 'princess' coat - at least now I can name what I'm looking for!! The ones in the links you shared look lovely actually. I was hoping for a high street store (Hobbs, I see, was a suggestion- thank you!!) but I suppose worst case scenario if I order online is I can return! Thanks again - the hunt continues!!

Definitely Hobbs, I have so many lovely coats from there. And am now wondering if I had the same Topshop coat as @indiesearcher, I ADORED that coat, and at the time it was a lot of money to me, I saved so hard to buy it. Thanks for the memory Smile

indiesearcher · 24/10/2021 21:23

Ah that coat was THE BEST.

Mine was dark navy, very nipped in waist, beautiful collar/double breasted. Laced up at the back. If it weren't for the laces, and my post DC shape, I would have held onto it.

I saved ages for mine too @YouHaveNoAuthorityHereJackie and wore it with huge pride!

I have a Monsoon coat from last year which is very fit and flare although it didn’t look that obvious in the online photos.

AppleButter · 25/10/2021 00:20

Sometimes “riding coats” are fitted at the waist.
