I really need to get some new boots for walking the dogs now the weather is changing. I have tried hunters but don't find them very comfortable. Any suggestions?

Thank you

I started a thread on this subject last night, and have ordered some ankle length muck boots on the back of it.

Dubarry boots are very comfortable, waterproof and stylish - they clean up well for smarter wear

[quote butterflyfox]I have just bought these. Fully Waterproof but much more warm and supportive than wellies

Those are gorgeous.

Anything cheaper?

Le chameau vierzon wellies. Comfy after 14 hours of wearing them.

Wellies just aren’t comfortable , you’d be better off with proper walking boots

Shannith · 24/10/2021 17:34

Came on to say Dubarry.

Warm, waterproof and they last for ever. Reasonably stylish when not caked in mud.

They have proper treads to great for when it's muddy and slippy or icy. Mine are 10 years old now and show now signs of letting me down.

Mine get daily dog walking wear for at least 5 months of the year including getting horses in from fields like swamps. I also ride in them which I probably shouldn't really - because of the treads.

My best footwear purchase ever. Cost per wear must be pennies. I've never had cold ties in them because there is room to wear two pairs of socks but they are super comfy if you only wear one pair as well.

Can you tell I love them.

I got some wellies from decathlon that are really comfy and not too expensive!

QuentinBunbury · 24/10/2021 17:39

I bought evercreature wellies last year. Very comfy, done lots of dog walks and still as good as new. Plus I like the fact they ate rubber and funky patterns. Think I paid about £65 ? Anyway I love them, would highly recommend

Shannith I'm currently looking into a pair of Dubarrys, would you mind advising on whether they are true to size? I'm between a 7 and an 8 but I'm thinking I'd need an 8 if I want to wear thick socks. The Galway county if that makes a difference?

RallySooney · 24/10/2021 18:29

Muck boots. I have an ankle length pair which are excellent.

chalkyc2 · 24/10/2021 18:31

I think dubarrys come up small - I have a 7 and am usually a 6/sometimes 5.5! I have the mid calf length style.
For actual wellies the new fitflop wellies are amazing....
