Melasma & Levonorgestrel

I very recently got the Kyleena coil which is Levonorgestrel only... I'm wondering whether it's possible my melasma is becoming worse as a result. Am I imagining this? I thought only estrogen could trigger this.

Mine was triggered by the implant which is progesterone. I’m using skin + me creams to fade it.

There’s a lack of joined up thinking for sure. Mine also gave me cystic acne and I ended up on roaccutane at 41 so that was nice.

They really should warn us about the pigmentation thing. I thought it was estrogen that caused it too.

I’ve only had it three days.

I’m off for an IPL session. If I’ve wasted all this money and effort I’ll be v pissed.
Why are there no warnings.

Did you have the implant removed aimslou?

It was me with the implant, one look at my 30+ spots and they were happy to remove and pop me off to dermatology.
