Missing clothing. Have I lost it

I don't have an enormous wardrobe. I try to buy things I can wear for years. It's easy to spot if something is missing.

So far I have noticed my favourite Whistles leather biker style jacket is missing. And my black denim jacket (from Topshop years ago).

I don't think I would have lost them, taken them to a restaurant and just not come home in them for exame. I am very careful. Have checked the laundry baskets, not there, or any reason why they would be.

Do your items of clothing ever just vanish too!?
Has an item you loved disappeared.. did it come back!

Occasionally I've lost things and torn the place apart looking for them.
Some never turned up. One was a blouse I think the dry cleaners never returned but I failed to spot it was missing on collection of a number of items. Other things have turned up in unexpected places, like a top I was heartbroken over turning up in the base of a deep pocket of suitcase years after a trip...
Good luck with the search.

I've lost one grey and one black jumper in the last two years - we've hardly been out, I don't leave stuff around, they've just vaporised 😀

Yes! Really bloody annoying. Nothing huge, but most years we lose a couple of items, T-shirt's etc, that just seem to vanish into thin air Confused

I found my coat in the boot of the car

Most annoying if your favourite jacket.I'm assuming you've not got teenage dd because that's where my stuff disappears to.

BrilliantBetty · 23/10/2021 12:08

Ha, no I don't have teenagers yet. I do have a teenager half sister (big age gap) who has been over a few times in the last year. Though I doubt she'd want to borrow my old jackets. Unlikely but almost hope she does have them, rather that then actually lost!

Happened to me when I realised a formal dress and faux fur coat disappeared. I only wore them about once a year or so and wondered had I left them at a dry cleaner. But then remembered my (ex-)cleaner saying in passing that she had a daughter about my height/size who was going to university and would have a lot of formal dinners etc. So thinking that’s what happened… I’m happy to think they went to a good home and were well used but I wish she would have just asked as I would happily have given them to her for her daughter 🤷‍♀️

Also had a pair of ugg boots go missing which I think were taken by someone else but nit sure who. If people take things like that, they are careful to take out of season things so it will be a few months before you notice they go missing and won’t be able to pinpoint exactly when you last saw them
