Bad haircut

I've got a re-do booked with lovely hairdresser for tomorrow morning, as I had it cut on Monday evening and it isn't great!

The cut isn't bad. I think it's a good cut, but it really isn't "me".

My hairdresser is great, but I need some ideas of what to do.

Current cut is very short at the back - probably about jaw length. Longer at the front - about mid neck length. It's too extreme and the little bits hanging at the front somehow make me look like a spaniel 😂.

I hate my hair. It has always been a total dick.

Wondering now how short to go, temporarily. I'm not scared of short hair at all, as long as it's low maintenance and not severe looking. I find the current look more severe than a soft wavy pixie for example as this one is very sharp looking.

My hair is fine and wavy. My face is quite heart shaped, with a bit of a double chin, no matter how much I weigh.

Maybe less extreme than that, but it does feel like that. It's hard to tell obviously as I can't see all round it.

It's also not as choppy as that. It's a neat bob at the back.

I think it might have to all come off tbh, which is annoying, as I'd just grown out a super short cut.

I don't really know what she was thinking. She's normally great. She is fixing for free though.

Could you get it cut into a french bob, with/without a fringe?

I was just messing about with it using my phone and a mirror to try and see both sides 😅

I think I can get a jaw length French bob out of it... Probably not the ideal cut for my face shape, but needs must!

Get some layers at the back to soften it and get the front evened up and also layered?

But I am much happier with it now. It's more layered but more even in terms of length.

Just shorten the front. Of the back is neat, just modify the front. That sort of tapered bob is so dated and the preserve of 'Karen's' for want if a better description who still think it's a bit rad and sassy. No idea why your good stylist went for it.

It's much more even in length now. It isn't exactly the same length all over, but much, much closer and more 'me'. I am NOT into sassy haircuts. Not even that fussed about my hair, so a "quirky" cut was never going to be for me.

I think it looked a bit severe really and too neat. I'm v casual as a rule.

MN have always referred to this cut as a 'I demand to see the manager' cut. I've only ever heard it referenced like that on here. I see it as a bit dated now tbh.
