Nail (DIY shellac/gel) advice??

So a few years ago I bought the cnd lamp and a few colours including the base and top coat.

Cnd is so expensive and I was wondering if there was any other brands I could use? I was hoping to use the cnd top and base coat with another cheaper brand colour in the middle. I just want to get some new colours in my collection without spending £15+ per colour!

Also similar question but does any use a gel polish instead and could I use the cnd base and top coat with it?

I use all sorts of gel polishes with my lamp and have found its the top/base coat that makes the difference to its lasting power so use branded for those. Otherwise I just buy my colours from Amazon

I’m a nail tech.
You should use the same brand top and base to match the colour you are using for the best finish and adhesion.
However most brands will work with any top and base. The importance is the prep of the nail prior to application.

Mylee ones have loads of nice colours

I used a Mylee top and base coat, as well as a layer of something called builder gel above the base coat. This is super thick and strengthens the nail and stops chipping.

For gel polish colours I just use whatever
