A coat like this but not so £££

I'm after a coat that will keep me dry and warm on a dog walk but will also look nice if I'm out and about.

I really like this one from Finisterre but can't really afford the price tag

I could go up to £150. Has anyone seen anything that might be a good substitute?

V similar to a lot of Uniqlo styles

That’s a great dupe

I've got one in blue. It's not the most stylish but waterproof and very warm.

RobertaFirmino · 20/10/2021 00:28
I've got this one - it has lasted me for two winters but looks a bit scruffy now. It's my taking bin out/litter picking coat these days but it's bloody warm.

I ordered this one but sent it back. Looked v weird on and was roomy in the body but the sleeves were so tight fitting, don’t think I’d have got a jumper underneath. Not recommended!!

Have a look at Lands End - they have a huge range of coats and there’s nearly always a sale on.

Jamnotjelly · 20/10/2021 00:39

I've just ordered this last week. (Hasn't arrived yet so can't tell you what it's like to wear)

@Hullbilly the regatta one looks like it could be a good one. I've found with Regatta stuff in the past that it comes up a bit small. Did you find that with this coat? Wondering whether to size up.

Whenever I have spent £££ on a coat it has lasted 10 years. If you can stretch to £150 I would push to the one you really want or I find you just end up buying a new coat every year.

Hullbilly · 21/10/2021 00:29

No I wouldn't size up. It's quite sturdy and sort of slightly shiney fabric, but very warm and waterproof.

beguilingeyes · 21/10/2021 12:14

Seasalt are good and properly waterproof

albird · 21/10/2021 13:26

Have a look at Didriksons coats on either Hollands Country Clothing or Sportamore - they have offers usually and a great choice. Which magazine really rates the Didriksons waterproof coats.

PegasusReturns · 21/10/2021 13:30

Uniqlo have a very similar one for half the price

Hoolihan · 21/10/2021 13:30

I've got a Seasalt coat which is a teeny bit frumpy but so warm and totally waterproof. It was less than £100 in the sale.

Nanasueathome · 21/10/2021 13:40

Seasalt Janelle is very similar

Have just stumbled across this thread rather than start a new one looking for waterproof coats (I found out the hard way that my puffer isn’t waterproof today! Ha ha)

@Hullbilly I’m going to order the regatta one in red. They also have an extra 20% off it today!
