Where can I get EEE width shoes that don't look like great-granny's?

I have awful feet and need extra wide fittings. I have some Hotter EEE trainers and work shoes, but they're not particularly pretty. The nicer- looking Hotter shoes only go up to wide fit.

I used to get ballet pumps from Evans, but they are so unsupportive and uncomfortable, despite looking a bit more feminine.

I would love some nice-looking flats that I can wear with skinny jeans, or dress up for a meal out without looking like I'm wearing grandma's cast-offs.

Notanotheruser111 · 19/10/2021 21:01

Ziera shoes, they still have a lot of granny shoes but do have some better looking stuff as well

Bells3032 · 19/10/2021 21:02

Marisota or simply be

Sargasso and grey. Very expensive though.

Peggytheredhen · 19/10/2021 21:19

Sorry, no help from me, I'm hoping that some of the recommendations you get will be suitable for my EEEEE width feet! I hate buying shoes, can never find anything that looks even remotely attractive. My DC is getting married next year and I am already dreading shopping for shoes.

CMOTDibbler · 19/10/2021 21:56

I bought some Sargasso and Grey shoes for an event, and they are actually a bit wide for me, and so pretty

custardbear · 19/10/2021 21:56

@TwoLeftSocksWithHoles

I think you can get these on Amazon, any good ? Grin
😆😆😆

@TwoLeftSocksWithHoles
So glad you are able to have a laugh about a very real problem. You clearly have no idea how upsetting it is to find that shoes that fit are something even your granny would have deemed ugly and old fashioned.
Thanks.

Did you mean to be so rude?

I thought it was funny and i have wide feet

girljulian · 19/10/2021 22:02

Oh, come on @Erictheavocado, lighten up. I too am of the flipper footed brigade and laughed at the clown shoes. Well done @TwoLeftSocksWithHoles, truly you’re making wide feet jokes of my dad’s calibre Grin

That said, can’t help OP…when I was a child I went off the scale on the measuring thing at Clarks.

DrNo007 · 19/10/2021 22:03

Try Peter Hahn. They have great shoes in wide fittings. However their width fittings have to be ‘translated’ as they are German. I would ask customer services but think you may be ok with H fitting.

Snowdropsandbluebells · 19/10/2021 22:05

It's hard. I wear marks and Spencer wide fit boots (I have a very broad foot)

Maskless · 19/10/2021 22:08

DB Shoes in Northants. Google them.

Nannyamc · 19/10/2021 22:12

Gabor or Reiker double zipped to aid wide feet.

Frogsareflyinginfromthewest · 19/10/2021 22:18

Next do extra wide fit.... I've got feet shaped like flat fishGrin

I have very wide feet and buy from places like yours and simply be. Unfortunately the quality isn't great and they don't last long if you walk a lot in my experience.

Erictheavocado · 19/10/2021 22:40

I'm afraid I really can't 'lighten up' about something which I find very distressing. As I said, my feet are EEEEE width fitting, which means that even 'broad fitting' shoes, are generally not wide enough. Most companies that do make shoes that are wide enough, maybe do a couple of styles., usually not particularly attractive ones. Somebody mentioned being off the scale on the Clarks measuring device - as a child. I was so far off the scale, that my shoes had to be sent back to the manufacturer to be professionally stretched. I have never been able to buy a pair of shoes on impulse and at times have had to buy men's canvas deck shoes as a last resort. Even on my wedding day, I had the ugliest pair of shoes because of my wide feet. If I ever win the lottery, my first purchase is going to be a bespoke last and pretty, made to measure shoes.

girljulian · 19/10/2021 22:49

My feet are so wide that no pretty shoe would look pretty on my foot if it was wide enough to fit, @Erictheavocado. They’d look like Mr Blobby ballet shoes.

Teaandakitkat · 19/10/2021 23:02

I bought a pair of Vivo Barefoot boots this week. They're properly wide across the toes, shaped like my actual foot and not narrow at the toes like most shoes.
But they might not be wide enough across the rest of the foot, and they're also not very feminine. They are quite weird to look at actually because of being so wide at the front. But they don't squash up my feet at all.
I also don't know if they do pumps or shoes, or just boots. So probably not a very good suggestion for you, sorry.

There was a v helpful thread about this recently that I bookmarked, on account of having nice square feet myself:
