First world problem...what should I ask for for Christmas?!

(fun thread - no offence intended)

Following last year's 'I didn't get you anything because you said you didn't need anything?' Christmas morning surprise (yes, totally my fault because that literally IS what I said....) DH has asked me - very carefully - to tell him what I would like for Christmas. However, I genuinely do not know what to ask for, but it would be nice to have a little something to open on Christmas morning, and I'm pretty well stocked for socks and perfume TBH and I've quit alcohol this year so wine is also off the table.

Soooo, I need some inspiration.....if you could choose a Christmas gift that fits the topic of this board (e.g. not an Aston Martin/holiday etc.... but something that can be wrapped and put beneath a tree!) what would it be?!?!! I have no budget in mind so all ideas welcome....

@VanillaSpiceCandle

I’ve asked for a leather rucksack which I’ve wanted for years. Also would like a new hairdryer and pair of DMs as the patent on mine has cracked. Might get the latter two myself!
Ahhh when I was a teenager all I wanted was DMs - plum ones - and I was never allowed, my DM hated them….. but she has asked me what I’d like too and you’ve got me thinking now - I still love them…. maybe it’s time??!!

Just to add we don't buy each other presents so mine is just a list of things I'll buy for myself at some point Grin

Flufferty · 19/10/2021 20:34

An oodie

SleepingStandingUp · 19/10/2021 20:38

Books
Theatre vouchers
Nice bottle of something sparkling

itstrue · 19/10/2021 20:57

@Thatsnotall instead of the easy press go for a heat press with attachments like a mug press. You can use an iron though! I'm finding it's opened up so many projects for me

Nibblypiggotonabus · 19/10/2021 20:59

Philips lumea (after so many on here have waxed lyrical)
Some gorgeous brogue ankle boots
Barbour winter puffa jacket
Perfume
Goody bag of make up and moisturisers that I use

Obviously won't be getting all but I can dream!

Fab, thank you! If you have any recommendations let’s me know? I’m very ‘new’ still but completely addicted. I can’t label everything in my house enough at the moment….. (‘look everyone, this is the box for ‘decongestants’)

A cookery course

Shopgirl1 · 19/10/2021 22:23

I sent my DH a screenshot of some lingerie I would like, with it in my basket in the right size, along with a lipstick. He probably won’t get it, he has never got me anything like that, but I can hope.

evilharpy · 19/10/2021 22:39

I happened to spot a gold necklace I loved so bought it and gave it to my husband to wrap up for me for Christmas.

I would always be happy with:
PJs
sheepskin slippers (I like Shepherd)
sunglasses (I like Ray Ban, I have a few pairs but like to have different styles and they last years)
Nice scented candles - I like Sand & Fog from TK Maxx

I've already ordered myself an Oodie, I couldn't wait for Christmas Grin

If you are truly struggling to think of additional luxury consumer items you want, could I suggest maybe a box of chocolates and donation to the food bank/climate change charity/etc?

GoodnightGrandma · 20/10/2021 07:53

The Velvetiser is worth the money, and I’ve seen money off it recently.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 20/10/2021 13:21

A really nice pair of timeless boots or shoes( plum DM's!)

NeedWineNow · 20/10/2021 13:53

On my wish list this year is:

A khaki leather handbag - suspect I am going to have to look for this myself

Thanks BestZebbie - a lovely and important suggestion for us all and rest assured, we will be continuing with regular payroll-giving monthly donations and also seasonal activities (reverse advent, shoebox campaigns for our local refuge etc) as Christmas approaches - the latter is an important part of our Christmas gifting and I didn’t intend to infer that I was struggling to think of anything particularly luxurious - more that I’d like to see what other people are keen for and see if there’s anything that floats my boat as - probably selfishly - I would quite like to have something open on Christmas Day xx
