Surgery abroad

mylife8410 · 19/10/2021 00:15

I've been looking into blephraplasty (eye bag removal surgery ) for a while, it's too expensive in the uk, looking to go abroad to have, can anybody recommend places or surgeons and rough prices ?
I've been looking at FormÄ— clinic in Prague, has anyone used before and can give honest opinion ?
Thanks

I don’t want to piss on your chips with this one, but things can and do go wrong with plastic surgery. It’s not that I think that’s fundamentally more likely to happen in Europe than here by any means, but if it does, then it’s really hard and expensive to get fixed. The voice of bitter experience is that you really want your surgeon and hospital relatively nearby afterwards.

I had abdominoplasty at the Forme clinic. The experience with the doctor was great and also the care at the clinic was excellent. I definitely have no regrets.

@WoSarah I agree, I have been to this clinic but almost 3 years ago and I couldn't say one bad word. I'm not sure if anything has changed since then, but everything has been great.. from the first communication with the clinic to the post-op care.
@mylife8410 And you are right that the price in the UK is very high for plastic surgery. For me, that was the main reason to go abroad and it helped me save quite a nice amount of money.

WoSarah · 30/11/2022 19:18

@Mollyy Yes, everything was perfect. The care at the clinic was fantastic and so was all the staff. I was a little hesitant at first, but they made me feel very comfortable and I wasn't nervous at all. Anyway, I had the operation in March this year and my tummy looks great, it's healing very nicely. I'm thinking of having another operation, but I don't know when exactly. However, I will definitely come back to this clinic.

Have any of you had BA surgery at this Forme clinic? I'm considering Dr Lhotsky. I had my consultation last year. I found the doctor to be pleasant and impressed. But I have to wait a few more months because I stopped breastfeeding, so we decided spring would be best.

@Aily17 Hello, I have been to this clinic 3 years ago but not the same surgeon. And in 2021 I also underwent lipo. In both cases the results are great. The main reason I had it done there was the price, probably the same for you. Anyway, I got mentor implants and opted for the teardrop shape for a more natural look. If you need to know anything, you can ask.

Aily17 · 21/03/2023 18:34

@Pammy39 Thank you, good to know. How was your recovery? I also want teardrop implants. But it will be better if I try it first:-) But I definitely don't want to have huge size ones that look like balloons. I was pretty happy with my breasts before kids, so something similar would be best. I can't believe how they could have lost so much shape and firmness:-( I'll try to make an appointment with them and hopefully the doctor will be free in May, that would be the best time for me to have the surgery.

Pammy39 · 30/03/2023 19:06

@Aily17 As far as I remember, the recovery from the surgery was fine, I had no problems. The pain after surgery was not as severe as I thought. I went back to work after a week, but I don't work physically. But I recommend those tear implants, they look very natural. So I hope you will be booked in May as you wish. Good luck.

Aily17 · 04/04/2023 11:37

@Pammy39 Thank you very much. I have contacted the clinic and should hear back within this week, so hopefully some good dates will be available.

Pammy39 · 24/04/2023 11:14

@Aily17 Hey, have you talked to them yet?

Aily17 · 25/04/2023 16:10

@Pammy39 Yes, I got a call back two weeks ago. Unfortunately I can't do it in May, the doctor is very busy, but they offered me the second week in June, so I took it:-)) I just have to sort out the flights.

BuntyCollocks · 25/04/2023 17:31

I’m not long back from Nordesthetics. I didn’t get a blepherasty but the surgeons are all excellent and I’m very happy.

givemecoffeenow · 25/04/2023 17:47

My DP is considering a hair transplant in turkey. I think it’s okay as long as you do your research and make sure you get a good clinic / doctor.

Cosmetic procedures just cost too much in the UK. Good luck OP.

Pammy39 · 11/05/2023 18:54

@Aily17 That's great. June is still ok and you'll be fine by summer. After a month I felt completely fine and could do everything including light exercise. I didn't want to overdo it in the beginning. But of course it's individual. Good luck:-)

Steppingintome · 11/05/2023 19:32

Defo do your research! A good clinic is always busy and has a wait list, be wary if one’s who can offer you an appointment straight away. My sister works in a clinic in the UK and the amount of surgery gone wrong she sees is increasing. They don’t care as soon as they have your money and people like my sister charge a fortune to fix it lol.

I recently had a blepharoplasty in York for £2000, the clinic was very highly recommended on here and I am thrilled with the results.

Sorry just seen this thread's ancient.
