And it's trend focused, so basically useless in terms of longevity.

I honestly expected better from Jaeger, since a few yrs ago I purchased a gorgeous silk dress in a timeless cut for less.

Pop over to Brora, ladies, there are several pure silk dresses for a similar price.

Polyester is not always a terrible fabric. It can be decent, especially vintage or higher end brands. If it's got some weight it can give a good drape to a garment.
You can get crappy cotton/linen/silk too.
Having said that, I don't tend to have much of it because it can be sweaty, and avoid new due to environmental issues.
